Found this on one of my buds.

I found this on a lower bud site, I'll take it as a bonus, I'm low on beans and they are tuff to obtain.

I'm a little confused how it got there?

It's the first time I've ever grown a seed, and it's on a nice strain, so I'd like to grow it out, and any others that I might find.

any advice on how to go from here to getting it/them ready for germinating? Does it look close to being mature enough? (Plan to harvest in 10-14 days)

cheers.

Even good bud can have a few random seeds in a pound.

Just use the paper towel method or soak it in a cup of water for about a day. There is tons of threads on here about germination if you need more info. It's pretty basic just try not to touch them before you get them into your medium.

Sorry, misread your post. I don't think there is much you do to get ready to germinate besides doing it. A basic test to see if it's good is to squeeze it and if it doesn't crush it's good seed ready to germinate.

That's good news. I sure would like to find a few seeds in my harvest. After trimming it looks doubtful though. So will that be a fem. seed?

I'm not sure, but once I saw how big the colas were on the parent plant, I was pissed I didn't take cuttings. So if its a fem seed, and has its mums traits I'll be stoked :)

Look for two little yellow "bananas". Thesecare female pollen production factories. Light leaks can cause these in great numbers. Saw a dispensary seed a 12kw room of females by leaving a door open for 30 minutes after lights off.
