Hey guys,

I just found out whos been goin around givin blind -rep to people for no reason at all, n even usin other peoples names when they do it too, to start fights between people (did that shit to me this mornin so he could start an argument between me n some other newish guy). Dudes name is Gravtronics. Hes a fuckin n00b n he dont know all the rules, granted, but for the most part, most of us take what were doin here seriously, and also value our reputation here at RIU. This fucker got no respect for other people, n he aint got the balls to own up to what hes been doin. Someone should suspend or ban his ass, n teach him that if he wants to play kiddie games, theres some shitty cannabis forums across the street that he can play them in.

Sorry to keep on botherin the Staff, but thanks for listenin.

man ive been -repped loads for no reason at all. really pisses me off. not that im too concerned about rep but its just childish going around -reping for no reason.

Why do people take this subject so seriously? I judge people by their contributions to the forum, not by circle jerk popularity points. It doesn't take long to separate out the trolls, fools, and wannabes. :roll:

this is true. I did this thread a few weeks back cuz of a couple friends of mine, and me too were getting some dickhead runnin around -reppin people for no reason. Ive learned quickly that the shit dont matter as much as i made it out to, n i even felt like a dick after startin the thread for whinin about it man. Its funny to look back at it now for me though, cuz the amount of shit i learned about how the forums work in a period of 2 or 3 weeks is pretty vast.

Basically, just do your thing on here, and reguardless of what people -rep you, youll get more +rep than negative, and it dont matter anyways in the long run. Just keep on trying to help people out as best you can, and dont act like an arrogant cocksucker, and youll get more positive feedback from people than you would negative. the site is put here so we can all help each other from each others experience or inexperience. Its by far the best growing site on the net IMHO. sorry for ever bitchin about this shit in the 1st place, lol.

- rep will be removed again with the new design, on a side not what do you guys think of totally do away with rep and the experience system can be used.

I think that, ultimately, both systems are inherently flawed because they can't do what the human brain can do, and that is scrutinize how reputation is earned in a meaningful way for humans. Does that make sense? Honestly, I'd really be more interested in getting the gallery back. :D

personally Rollie, i like the rep system. the only thing i would change is, you make it so the people who are giving out the -rep have to leave their name. Simple as that. That way, people wont go around givin people neg rep cuz they had a shitty day or somethin, they would actually have to leave their name, n thus have an actual reason for givin it out, cuz they would be more hesitant to just blaze someone n run off. Thats just the opinion of one person though. Im cool with whatever you decide.

The gallery is setup in the new design seamaiden I am just going through bug testing to make sure its up to par so i dont get flooded with emails once it goes default. Both systems are flawed i agree, but one has to be better then the other.

Yeah, well.. having the indicators, bars and signs are kinda nifty and fun. Mouse-over anything and you're bound to get something. My favorite is mousing over different people's reps and some of the messages are kind of funny.

That said, I just don't use the rep or activity system to gauge a person's helpfulness for me. I think I've learned pretty well how to tell someone who just knows their shit and someone who doesn't, no matter how they convey it or how popular they are. I still like mousing over and getting messages.

yeah man, i like havin a spectacular aura about me ;) - but what are you guys talkin about "the gallery"?? i guess im still new to RIU, i dont know nothin bout how it used to be setup - am interested though...


N i would like to think of myself not so much as "I Know my Shit", but more like "Im Learning My Shit". Im humboldt enough to know that i still qualify as not knowin alot about alot, but knowin a little about a little, n i try to give advice to n00bs about shit that ive learned here, but i wouldn't dream of ever gettin into tryin to give someone advice about anything thats beyond the spectrum of what i know. So, hope im one of them people that you would process in ur mind as gaining your respect, maiden, lol. :D

Click my sig line, I had bookmarked my gallery, which is one way to keep and organize pics. But, this was before I'd discovered my albums, which is probably even better. There is a LOT to the software powering this place, I still haven't sorted everything yet.
