had 7 in my flowering room, and the one in back which i rarely checked, turned out hermie and the balls were HUGE a few were opened... i have tons of fans in there

is it 100% that they will pollinate all my females? i killed it off...

but i might be too late... im disgisted anf this plant had about 10 main colas somehow... i aint kidding... the tops was bushy and crazy..

im only 3 weeks into flowering and im wondering how fucked i am...

:(

You said some of the sacks were open eh? If there is air circulation, its a good bet it could have likely pollenated some. Sorry to say, but thats a pretty good sign of bad news. Someone else may have better knowledge though as to how potent the pollen could be at 3 wks into flowering.

Happens, with the way they are messing with genetics it happens even more today then in the past. Stress can trigger it also.

Just a caution, I had a male get loose and had lots of seeds for the summer but!!! three months later I bumped a fan in the room and was screwed all over again. Some pollen had covered the fan and I did the rest. Clean up good.

So i took cuttings off the Hermie, b4 i knew he was hermie,

should io even bother with them?
or was there a chance the mother became hermie thru some stress??

i have somne really nice clones..
it would be
sad to put them to sleep

unless they are 100% gonna be hermie

It could just be that the mother turned hermie from stress and if this is the deal I would keep the clones and keep a very close eye on them when you start to flower them if you see nutsacks then sorry dude get rid of them.

point is it went hermie and others didnt you shouldnt want a plant like t hat around and hope t he clones dont go hermie. also seeds from plant pollinated by a hermi are highly likely to have to same traits i thought

I have strains that put off bananas late in flower. They do not form round pollen sacks nor do they open up. My favorite strain (Headband) only pushes out a few bananas, and I usually can just pluck them off. I will get 1 or 2 seeds per plant.

I have a new strain (Hijack) through off a bunch of bananas...remember they do not even swell and open...but they do fall off if left too long...EVERYTHING is lightly pollinated....If you had a true hermaphrodite...rather than the late term sexuality questioning...and had actual staminate flowers that opened up...you are for sure pollinated (and early enough to make big seeds) and you should sh!t can IT's clones.

Sorry dude.

I would eliminate it from the garden. One pollen sac in the right environment (like having 3 fans blowing the pollen all over) is enough to pollinate you whole crop. Get rid of it. If it happens in the future, raise the lights real high, and spray around the area with water. Water destroys the pollen immediately. Although pollination is almost instantaneous. Don't continue to spray with water. Just a one time thing. Don't want mold AND seeds bongsmilie

There was no need to cut the plant down it would have still produced a decent yeild.People think that if there is a hermi in the room everything is fucked and there right if like you are saying the pollan sacks were open. But i would harvest the seeds for sure there is a chance that there will be a few 100 % females in there. The plant that had turned would still have produced a decent yeild but the buds would hve had seeds in but all you had to do is take them out.If the pollan sacks have opened then there is no dought that the rest of the plants will have been pollanated. If you have a mother plant the chances are that it may not have been turned.Carry on with the grow and hope that it is not that bad seed wise the bud will still be there to be harvested so carry on then start again with good genetics.

but why would you leave a hermie plant in with perfectly fine females??? If you leave the hermie then your buds are gonna be PACKED with seeds and not potent at all...

hey man,

if you really want you can pich off the sacs and flower it. It won't be as potent but it will still get you high. Also, make sure you wash the walls clean like you would for dust as the pollen may still be lurking around for your next grow.

if its a stress hermieyou should 1. find the stressor and fix it 2.pinch any sacks 3. dont stress it out anymore 4. pinch off any new sacks everyday, be thorough when searching 5. after a period of no stress(a week or two) it will stop making male flowers. problem solved. if its genetic hermie it will keep doing it though so if after like 3 weeks of no stress conditions its still putting out bananas kill it.

Trash it all! Seeds will carry bad hermi genetics. Be smart, pull the flowers and clean your space. You're better off counting this one up to experience.

Ask yourself this

Do you want to risk your hard work?

The plant has shown it will produce a hermi for what ever reason.

KILL IT!
and do it now. and all the clones.

Save yourself a lot of grief later.

Peace :peace:

Is it 100% false that Hermi plants will produce Feminized seeds?! I thought I read (A long while back), that thats how these companies could guarentee fem' seeds, because they were from genuine Herme plants. I think originally what I was thinking was that this was a male that wasnt caught, not a hermie. A Hermie would produce feminized seeds no? While a Male would just fuck the whole shit up..

I believe it was a dude at the shop where I went to purchase seeds at a long time ago. So perhaps it was just misinformation.
