Forgot to water my plants, Wilted, help?

Alright, three days almost four without water, soil dried right up, my plants are a month old, and wilted a lot. The bottom most leaves are yellowing. The upper leaves are dark green. The smallest plant is still ok though. I gave them lots of water, and then I misted the leaves. I am so worried. Will they bounce back? Should I give them water every day for a little while? I need them to stay alive. Please, any tips?

^^^^^^THAT^^^^^^

Just make sure the medium is saturated. Sometimes when it gets too dry it has a hard time absorbing water. Bottom watering will help this, i.e. Letting the pots sit in a saucer or bucket of water.

Once the medium is saturated, go back to your normal watering. No misting or frequent watering.

If they are going to recover, they will right away. If not, nothing is going to help.

I had this happen a few times to me and I have just dumped it in a bucket of water and let it sit and then drain. Plants recover.Their pretty strong.

I know exactly where you are coming from Wolverine97! I get so tired trying to decipher some of the posts on this site I just skip over them. It makes me ask the question, "Just how does this person expect to make it in life if they cannot communicate through the written word?". By the way I like your posts!

Yeah, it's kinda scary actually, like when you have to go to the DMV. LOL j/k...
Thanks though, I just want to spread some knowledge around for everyone to benefit from. I've made just about every mistake a grower can make (hydro systems excluded) and I'd like to help some others avoid those errors, it's expensive.

I wonder if the people who use "texting" abbreviations know how to spell the word!

i say nip it in bud, before it gets too dry. I have a plant that has always wilted and i watered and came back to life. something like 2 1/2 days and it will wilt, so I just go ahead and water after day 2.

No. Don't water while the soil is still wet, that is the root cause of many a growers frustrations. Wait until they need watering. I don't run some big operation or anything, I have a small legal medical grow, but I understand the plants needs. There are many people willing to give advise, you have to decide what to follow.

As unreliable as they are, a moisture meter is much better than a finger in the top of the soil. The finger only tells you the condition of the first inch or so. With a moisture meter you can poke it in the soil 6". If the top of the pot is drying out too fast, use a spray bottle and moisten the top to keep it from shrinking while the middle of the pot catches up.
