i have 2 plants growing in my window in my room.there is a sheet of aluminum foil angled toward the plants opposite of the windows sunlight. at night there is a street light that shines on the plants all night so they grow more? but i was wondering if it was possible to force my plants to flower by covering them up during the night and reducing the amount of sunlight. would it be enough to make the plants think its time to flower? if anyone could help me out or give any suggestions i would be happy :P

12 hrs of darkness should kick it into flower... Read where someone had an outside grow and a quarter of the plant had a street light on it and the other 3/4 had darkness... 3/4 of the plant was in flower but the 1/4 that was getting light from the street light was still veggin... Read it in hightimes last month or month before but complete darkness for 12 hrs should do ya right... Good luck!

I have that same problem right now...three 7Ft. female indicas are about 50Ft. from a 1000+HPS streetlight and the unshaded sides are still fully vegging at the end of September and its days away from the first frost!!! The shaded sides which is only 1/8 of the plants are budding well but off of a 7ft plant...thats a couple branches, thats it. I cant put up any obstacles to block the light around the plants, that would cause a lot of suspicion. I can't shoot out the light because its within city limits and the road company would replace it and my grow would be busted. What is a good way to remedy this situation!?
Ive read in a couple cannabis cultivation books that you can put plastic garbage bags over the branches to force flowering but what do you do when its an outdoor grow and cannot reach the "spot" unless its dark due to tight security. Can you leave the bags over the branches and leave some plant exposed to sun? I need help SOOON as this years harvest time is quickly approaching

I'd cut off that unflowered branch because it may be a hermie risk imo...maybe wrong but I wouldn't take the risk.

Ouch man, sounds like you don't have any options there. If indoors is an option for you, I'd try to take clones from her and grow them inside. The only thing I can really think of is that if there is a tree or branch near the telephone pole with the light maybe you can get a small piece of plywood and put it in the tree right near the light to shade your plant. If you can show pictures of your grow spot, maybe we can offer more suggestions.

Also, next year you should spend some more time finding a guerrilla spot that isn't right next to a road. They are out there, you just have to spend some time looking. This fall you should just take some walks around your town in the woods and see what you find.
