How hot do they get?
It's a total of 432 Watts.
It will be running in a girls closet with the closet doors open.
Central air is on 72-74 throughout the day. Bedroom door will be closed.
There will be a fan on the closet shelf blowing the heat into the bedroom, and oscillating fan on the canopy.
How hot will it get? There is no extraction of any hot air to a specific point what so ever.
She's aware of the fact that all this air is recirculating in a bedroom and additional air is coming from the central AC but that is it.
The bedroom door supposedly has about 1.5" gap under the door.

Pretty much want to know if anyone has experience with a similar situation.

Thank you everyone!:peace:

So heats not going to be a problem in there?
How hot you'd think it'll raise bedroom temps if at 75F?

And the smell should be rather soothing <3

A T5 fixture really only produces heat from the ballast, not the lamps. That is the reason you can place them within inches of the plant. The heat from the ballasts will be moderate compared to anything other than a LED. You can expect a 5 - 10 degree increase in a small closet.

if its a sun blaze, then it puts out some heat small fan is all you need, with that ac.

No i have 5 of the 2x4 8 bulb t5's and listen carefully when we hung them vert to grow 1 light made it 100 degrees in the closet if you hang them horz facing down with something to absorb the heat I.E a few towels or the carpet the temps will stay around 85 even with the door closed and the 6400k bulbs running. If you switch to 8 red spec bulbs during bloom ull notice a temp drop. IMO buy a growlab clone tent put ur fixture in there it WILL be big enough for your plants keep them low under t5's but about 3-4 inches from the light. I have the tent closed with the one hole on the left having a fan blowing into the tent the fan being next to a vent so the cold air gets into the tent. I also have another fan up top pulling air out of the tent that the light produces. Hope ive helped.

Depends on the fixture. My badboy always put out more heat from the ballast than my hydro farm.

look for club t5 in this section. Check my journal and journaled posts. And petfloras thread and a few others. They are all in club t5.

I'm going to be starting up par t5 again shortly... I prefer cmh. I have to get all new everything due to unfortunate circumstances.

I am growing in a closet with HO T5 lighting and heat is an issues that must be delt with. If I did not have the fan pulling in fresh air and an exhaust fan pulling out the hot air temps would get into the mid 90's. I am running 2 3ft 4 bulb fixtures up top and a bunch of side lighting as well using 2 ft 24 watt T5 HO lamps. AC is set to 76-77 all the time. T5 HO bulbs do get quite hot unlike T8 bulbs that stay cool to the touch. If I have a bud, stem or leaf contact a T5 bulb it will quickly cook the spot of contact.

So does anyone have any experience with the sunblaze 48.
Really trying to think if i should get it.. I don't want to run into trouble with heat and have to vent...
'cause then my ass is going for a hps system.

T5 HO lighting IME works very well when used correctly and is by far has lowest heat output. A 400 watt HPS would be much much hoter in the same space. Just be sure to have good ventilation and air flow in the closet and you will be fine. You just dont want the temps to go much over 82.

I have used hydrofarms . Pretty much the same as sun blaze except the reflectors.. Works well. Growers house has good deals too. Imo 432 watts is alot of power for a 2x4. Another alternative would be cree led globes or cmh or led flood lights. All produce very good results. Same or less heat than t5. Around same price or less.

...as long as you got a fan,it will be ok..and they really do not need to be real close to plants.

Yeah they do need to be pretty close to the plants to get good flowering results. The light becomes useless after about 8-10" and you want to keep the lights 2-4" from the top of the plant. If you dont you will have stretching and fluffy buds. Genuity are you flowering that many plants in that space under that light? I hope not because it is not enough room and not enough light for all those plants, they will be over crowded and light coverage will be an issue. I can push 8 plants smaller in my setup and that is asking a lot of my lighting to get a good harvest. For than many plants 2 1000 watt HPS is more ideal.
