All i can do is laugh at you all with your "forum experience..."

I went to school for plant biology and horticulture. I don't put that in my signature
or post about it all day. I've worked with plants for years and I veg with none other
than, yep, you guessed it, FLOURESCENTS! SO I love flourescents.... But to expect
this from flowering with them? Please. "I work at a hydro shop for fun" Well thats
what you would call it if you weren't being paid :-P

Edit: I encourage you to replicate this mans grow. AND DOCUMENT IT WELL! Because I would
love to be proven wrong, rather than simply told I don't know what I'm talking about.

Ok just to clear a few things. I have been growing dope since age 15. Im 35 now. I have 20 years of mj experiance for those that cant or are too stoned to count. anyway I have owned my own buisness. charged $85 an hr for about 5 years. Had a few issues with a partner and hated the work. So now I take it easy and work at a hydro shop for $8 an hr. Considering I make about $20k a harvest I can easily say I work there for fun. I get everything at cost. So I actually make more money saving money than I actually make. My post count isnt the best but I can assure I have grown more dope than 90%of plant biologist in this country have. lol

Back on topic... Yes you can bloom a plant with a cfl no problem. But its going to be loose bud and you need to keep the light super close to get a decent result. I tell people that come into the shop that you can grow the plant with a cfl but you cant fill it out. Thats kinda a lie but imo its the truth. I only bloom with 1000w hps or a dual arch bulb. I recomend the same to others so the will be extreemly happy with the results. I use the sam kind of cfl but a 125w that I only use to clone with. I set each one over a black 11"x20" (or whatever size it is) tray with a 50ct rockwool slab. I have 3 set up. Works great.

Great Grow!

I like the the fact you did so well with a CFL because that is what I am using right now. I am running a lot of CFL's nothing to a HPS system.......but I think my plants look damn good! Light is a major factor of course, but that being said, genetics, watering and feeding also play a factor.

Nice job Dude!

NICE PIC mookie !!!

I thank GrowOne who is my special guest on this thread lol. He gave me a lot of good advices for my first grow.

I might move to Japan this summer for a job and I think I will order an AeroGarden to grow my plants with CFLs and to make it super stealth (they are not to play with when it comes to weed in their country!).

Glad to see so many people motivated to continue their actual grow with CFLs.

Once again I am not here to convert people to CFLs, I just wanted to show what these bulbs could do with my facts and from other members.
It's just simple to use for beginners and you don't have too much to worry about the high temperatures.

Peace and keep the comments coming ! :joint:

Not my fault I'm dyslexic. Never has or ever will be.

Just keep changing the subject, I love yearlings. You are a simple
minded generalizing person. "since you are a big man you loves to
call people out" blah blah blah, I'm calling this fool out on his grow.
I don't care why mr widow works at a hydro shop for the fun of it.
My hydro shop workers say the most retarded shit all the time, such
as "Lumens are what matters bro."
Just keep sniffin his nuts little man.

There is no way to properly deliver that 85 Watts of CFL to the leaf
surface, the bulbs aren't shaped properly, even if you have the bulv
as close as possible like 3/4s of the bulb is facing away from the plant,.

And you're going to reflect it? Yea right most of that will be reflected
directly back at the bulb anyway..

And I don't claim to be a qualified plant biologist, I didnt get a degree,
I have a background in general plant biology and horticulture, took
P. Bio, Hort 101, Greenhouse management, Turf science, agronomics and started a business.
Dude, you come off like a total dick on a consistent basis, no matter how much knowledge you have. Maybe try working on that.

They do work but yields are greater with better lights. Last grow I had two plants same strain and used around 340 watts of cfl's. I got around 3 1/2 zips. this last harvest with the same strain I used just a 250 hps for flower and got almost 5 ounces. Huge increase with less power if you ask me. And for the record my temps are a little cooler with the 250 hps. (less watts, remote ballast)

Yeah it's obvious, most of the members are aware of that I think.
More lights, better harvest.

HPS are way better than CFL. The point of the thread was just to prove that CFLs can actually give nice results. I personally use it at the moment because I have too many people in my house. CFL are not too hot, easy to use and are pretty good for a small space to grow in.

i did ak48 with cfls...used about 8 or 9 - 23 watt cfls and a dual tube flourescent fixture. Got about 2 ounces off 1 plant. You get more dense buds with the lights blanketing the entire plant from multiple locations.
The smoke was STRONG.

no question, it's tough to compete with a 1000w hps(or similar) in some categories, but in certain categories cfl's have an advantage
micro grows - say 100w or less, i got 35g from 78w of cfl's, weed quality was excellent
safety - no question that cfl's are a newb's friend, any electrical device has fire potential, but high powered hps require a more demanding setup and care
cost - for small grows, cfl's win here, many can cobble a grow chamber from stuff lying around, buy a few cheap cfl's, and you're growing

Regardless of how you did it. Good job! I kind of wonder if it's a matter of perspective. I mean the pics make the buds look gigantic and dense. So a bunch of peeps are hatin' on you saying your a liar and stuff. I believe you, but wish the pics were with a beer can or cigarette lighter next to the nugs to get the real perspective. The only perspective I have is the door stopper in one of the pics. In that case it's quite impressive, but by no means impossible. There's really only three big buds or so and the rest looks like it will dry up to be small popcorn buds. One Love Everybody. No need to even stress over how this cat grew those nugs. Just consider it nug porn and grow your own way! :)

Thanks. That's exactly the case, there were 3 fat colas and the rest of the buds were small ones (but many).
Putting the perspective is what I am doing now, even for my last thread with my grow in Japan. It helps to realize the real size of the buds.

I don't even see how I could lie about this, it's not like I got the perfect equipment to grow the best weed and I am not even promoting CFLs, the only reason why I like them so far is because they don't produce too much heat. Which is my major enemy considering the fact that I am always growing in small spaces.

I thought people on RIU would be interested in seeing what was done with a single CFL but haters are everywhere I guess. That's why I take pictures for the next threads on a regular basis, so the b*tches wont be calling me a liar...
