folded taco strain (purple kush)

Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum, so i thought i would share my prized strain. My buddy gave me a cutting of this indica about 4-5 years ago without seeing the product, there was something about it that made me want to try it tho.

VEG

7 1/2 weeks of flower

I was trying to see if anyone else has had a strain like this.

All water is ro, and ppm's are good. I use the entire house and garden line.

I got it from my buddy works at a hydro shop. him, my 2 other buddy's and myself have been trying to get the leaves to go flat for 4 years now. All of product turns out exactly the same for all of us, and the leaves always look like this. Ive flush, cloned, transplanted and just about everything else and it still will have folded leaves.

I have got different purple kush the the local co-ops around here and they are incomparable to the task of this folded leaf.

It looks like the plant suffered major heat stress too me. I could not see signs of actual burning, as in from excess nitrogen, no cooked leaf tips of fried leaf edges, just over-dried leaves. So unless there is true burn I could not see in the pics I would say before you got the plant it was in conditions that became too hot and stayed that way for a while.

If lights are too close to the plant and or there is inadequate ventilation the tops may curl, the plant becomes over-dry and leaves can look burnt but not actually be burnt. Excessive heat stress can appear too be a nutrient problem.

Is nobody else seeing the perfectly healthy plant behind.....I'd believe it's genetic, especially when it looks as good as it does flowering. It's kind of cool....opens the plant up to allow more light throughout lol!

Yeah, that's really weird. Do the leaves ever go flat? You ever try this cut outside? It really does look like severe heat stress but even the leaves at the very bottom have it, which makes me think maybe not. Perhaps it's just a freak that likes 16°C daytimes.

But hey, if the plant is potent and you like it, why not right? I guess there must be a reason someone kept growing it out five straight years.

EDIT: just a thought, it could be a virus. Tissue culture that shit and find out.

If it were a virus wouldn't it have spread, since there's a plant in the back ground. I'd have to say I do see what vic see's, that is its healthy with what appears like a genetic deformity. Btw how does this strain fair with foliar nutes application??

I have a plant that does something similar but not as extreme. In my case it's a genetic thing, probably same in your case too. Every clone I take off my crazy plant shows the same crazy ass leaves.

when we originally got the strain that had massive cured leaves just like now and was called the pk. We are not sure, but its either pure kush, or purple Kush. im leaning toward purple kush , just because even when the room remains a consistent 85 degrees during flower the fruits will turn purple when they are ripening. I have yet to see anything to close in the cannabible or anything else similar. Also, none of the leaves ever go flat.

We received one 6 inch cutting and grew it with house and garden nuts under t5s until it was about a four foot bush. Then me and my 3 buddy's each took about 10 cutting of this new strain for each of our closest. We all used house and garden besides one of my buddy's who had already carried advanced. All 40-50 cutting grew exactly the same is veg and flowered some amazing product.

One of my buddy's still has the original clone growing in his veg room. I ended up growing out one of my cutting so I now have a cloned mother of the original which i still take baby's off of.

I don't use the magic green to often, but when i do they do get a darker, richer green for the next couple of days. ive also noticed its not as much as a nutrient hound as the sour diesel i have been working on.

the pk is also relatively easy to clone and grows at a decent rate, ripening at about 7 weeks.

ive been wanting to try to out doors forever now too,
