FML roots!

OK so I'll make it quick as I am at work and will upload images tonight. My res got root rot And after a 2 week battle I had irradicated it and threw in some grozyme and aquashield.

Roots started sprouting like it was on steroids pearl white glory. Then I changed my res a week later and started to notice after a couple of days browning of the roots! I freaked and probably killed all my progress cause I rinsed my roots and let them sit in a solution of a table spoon of bleach to 2 liters of water for twenty minutes re did my res filling it with max amount of grozyme and aquashield which is 15ml per gal.

As well as my nutes. Drained my net pot of the bleach solution by dunking it in some phd plain water. Now I woke up this morning and my roots look died like slimy looking although there is no slime. And just limp.

What have I done?!?!
Did the bleach mess it up or did I add to much grozyme or what?

PH 5.9
Res 69-70
650ppm grow nutes AN nutes, calmag, 15/g aquashield, 15/g grozyme.

I will add photos as soon as I get home.

OK so I'll put a garbage bag on it. But do you think I killed my roots soaking them in bleach or adding to much grozyme? It says do not exceed 15ml per gal. What happens if you exceed the recommendation.

Well, soaking in a bleach or h202 solution for a bit wouldn't of hurt the roots. And, all hygrozyme does is break down old dead roots. If they are healthy, you don't even really need it. I am almost positive it wasn't what gave you this problem. If your temps are in order, then its more than likely a light leak. Run a flashlight over your rez in a dark room. Get a roll of aluminum tape, and start plugging leaks.

if your temps are too high you can insulate the res with silver bubble wrap or insulation, and swap ice bottles once/twice a day. that would also help close up light leaks. If you are running tap water you should de-chlorinate it, because chloramine can make bennies (aquashield) less effective, and it doesn't gas off. The h202/bleach should be fine for washing out the roots; like others have said it is probably heat and lack of o2.

If you are in united states you can get some black gorilla tape, and reflectix silver bubble wrap from lowes or home depot... and tape the res up with 3+ layers of reflectix. You can get API tap water conditioner from petsmart or petco which I recommend, because some other brands contain extra shit to build up protective fish slime coating. Sodium thiosulfate is the active ingredient for breaking down chloramine.

Fill res with fresh water, dose with tap water conditioner (if needed), dose with aquashield/bennies. Wait a day before you add nutes to give the bennies time to establish and make sure you aren't using any nutes containing organics, although it doesn't sound like you are.

You're going to want healthy/healthier roots/plants going into flower. I can't see any of the pictures you said you'd put up so a time prediction/estimation is just based on the previous experience of grows/problems we may have had.

If your plants are doing well sooner, great. Personally, I'd wait longer than a week though.
:peace:

Thanks bro! My roots were starting to recover and I had many new roots growing but the rockwool looked weird brown and had an earthy smell to it. I figured instead of going half way through flower and having the whole plant fall apart in a relapse of root rot. I decided to cut clones and put 3 into flower as soon as new growth is established to replace my one bigger problem plant. Anyways I have since had one pop roots out of the peat pucks and the other clones look strong and green with no droop so I believe they will root soon after. So I chopped down the pain in the ass. I don't want more plants in my grow because its a manditory jail sentence if I possess 6 plants so I don't want more than I need. I don't sell weed so I figure there is no point in getting greedy I am going to do 4 small plants instead.
