i just sent my plant into flowering about 2 weeks ago an buds are forming and the plants grown a good 6 inches since, its about 28" tall and i just today noticed a shit load of flying insects, black insects with clear colors wings staying mostly toward the bottom of my plant by the soil and under leaves
i killed probly 20-30 of the flying insects and set down some sticky traps to see how many more i can catch and murder but i noticed some very very long tiny insects in the soil, i did not see many at all in the soil and even wen i put my finger in the soil or threw some water in there i still didnt see any come running up or anything like that

im gonna continue using sticky traps to catch the flying guys and ive been spraying my leaves with a cal/mag mix caus they did have a def. earlier in growing, idk if that will help at all.

but if anybody has any advice what so ever on some type of spray soluton or something i can put in the soil that wont harm the plant that would be awesome. im 66 days into my grow and my buds are lookin nice this is the last thing i wanted to happen.

you will catch the adults but not the babies, they have a fuck fest on your medium and lay larvae. Lots of products you can use mine became immmune to it so I killed them off with predatory nematodes to eat the larvae and sticky traps to catch the adults. Hot Shot Pest Strips work too.

Yes sir.. I got a grow buddy who uses these outdoors too, Lady bugs are good too. .. The gnats wont go near the medium because to them its like landing in a pool of hungry sharks.

You can buy them here , good grow shops should have them. Or nurseries.

Pretty much they dont do as much damage as you think but they are a nusisence and will eventually fuck your shit up.. The neem oils and stuff work great for the adults flying but that doesnt work in the soil for the larvae. You can try a product called Azamax or Gognats or even gnatrol I used Azamax and it made my larry OG sad so I just went the organic route, lady bugs will help too if you want to try that route.

listen for the larve put a layer of sand on top of the soil or medium and that will smother them....

A lot of growers on RIU cover the soil with about a half inch of perlite. When the adult female can't lay eggs it's just a matter of time before the whole population dies out. Hoss does it. Subcool has recommended it. The gnats become stuck on the sticky glands and get trapped. Most get trimmed off when harvesting but a few remain. It's kinda gross but harmless.

oh damn that is kinda gross idk if ill have that problem tho caus im only two weeks into flowering an i think i may have gotten rid of the problem, i dont see nearrrly as many as i did when i first noticed em, now i actualy have to search for em. i got my neem oil so i made up a solution an sprayed all over, even around my grow area. ill just keep laying down traps, possibly put a layer of sand on top or like you mentioned some perlite, and spraying neem oil when i should.
how often should i spray with the neem oil?
