Flushing with Clearex

I am getting ready to start my 5th grow (ebb&flow under 400w HPS.....widow) and I have always in previous grows flushed out my plants every third res change (I change weekly) with clearex to reduce build up of nutrient salts in my rockwool. This grow, however, I will be adding bacteria & fungi to my root zone (I use AN 3 part, and am introducing piranha, tarantula and voodoo juice this go round) and I am curious if the flushing tri-weekly will effect these beneficial microbes, or if they will be alright. Since they colonize the root zone, and continue to live and thrive there even when not present in the res, and I know H2O2 will destroy them, I am worried that Clearex might do the same. If anyone who knows can help, it would sure be a real blessing. So, VicVicious....Earl....any insight.....or of course, anyone else too...LOL

I use Clearex with organics, and Botanicare recommends it to be used, so I don't think it will bother the critters. It says the ingredients are fructose and sucrose I think, so they may well like it.

Cool.....thanks much. I love it, and would hate to quit using it for peridoc flushes.....makes the end product so much lusher when you flush throughout, IMO.

Oh yeah..you're going to love voodoo, tarant, etc. What do you do for your final flushing. Do you still use clearex or just water. I have clearex and I've been wondering if I can just use it in the res on the last week(maybe change it out a couple of times) and it will flush them well enough. I kind of F'd up...growing 2 diff strains in one table, and of course...the finishing times are going to be off. Turns out my NL that I chose to get the clones from is showing heavy sativa traits, so my Sweet Nightmare plants are going to finish first. Anywho, I'm rambling...let me know about the clearex

Hi there platypusmann, could you help a noob with a simple problem?...

I too am planing to do an ebb and flood grow but how exactly would you flush out the salts in the rockwool if they are surrounded by clay pebbles? Do I just pour tap water over them once or carry on with the feed time but with regular water for a day or two?

Im guessing this is a silly question but I just want to clear things up.

No problem at all.....here is what I do....
Every third res change (I change weekly) I take the plants into the bath tub, then I foliar spray them thoroughly with pH 5.6 water. I then pour 2 quarts Clearex solution (1/2 cup to 5 gal water) over the top of my grow medium (I use rockwool strater plugs placed in 2"rockwool slabs sandwhiched between beds of hydroton in a nursery pot) and let it run through slowly.....this is my way of flushing during the grow.
You can also run the clearex through your res, but I find that way too time consuming for me.
I do my final flush (I start when trichs are 40% cloudy..about 8 weeks) with AN Final Phase for 5 days, using it in my res 2xdaily for 15 mins, and then I run plain water, pH 5.8, with about 3/4 cup of Sweet Leaf in it until the plant is ready to harvest (80/20 cloudy/amber for me).........
I have only 3 harvested grows (one 3 plant harvest (shiva/ice/california orange), one 6 plant harvest (widow), and one 5 plant harvest (northen lights....one was six week stress herm I hashed), with current grows being one 7 1/2 weeks into flower (blue mystic) and 8 fresh seedlings (widow), so I am a noob myself, but I have grown up with growers, and am a gardener by hobby, so I guess I feel like I have a slight idea of what works for me.......everyone likes my buds, and I just got offered 300 for an ounce....I NEVER SELL MY WEED...BAD KARMA....I told the guy that my connection was out....LOL.
Anyway....sorry so long winded...good sativa does that to me....
