Flushing from chemical nutes to compost teas at the end...any thoughts?

Ok, so I am aware that there are some people out there who disagree with the practice of giving only water to your plants at the end of their bloom, the final flush, which astounds me. This thread isnt for them as them as i'm not really trying to discuss if flushing is or is not needed.

What I am hoping for is to get some feedback on how I like to do my final flush, if it is overkill or a good idea. Firstly, I use promix, feed with cutting edge solutions 3 part, also use molasses. How I like to do my final flush is to go from regular CES feeding schedule to giving it a low nutrition, highly fungal and bacterial aerated compost tea. After I give them this, I of course give them a few days untill their next watering, which is strait water from there out, for five days or two waterings whichever is longer. My question is this: do you tjink that going from the chemical nutes to the tea will just end up killing off all the microherds from chemical remnants in the promix? Will going from chemical to tea negate the benefits of the tea? Do you guys think that this is overkill or a sound practice? Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks

It won't hurt the NPK of your tea but it will likely kill off some microbes at first. However as you keep giving just tea the herd should build up pretty good. Sounds like a good way to go to me.

Hmm, to me, it sounds like you're doing a little bit more than you need to do.

I think the switch from the nutes to the tea will kill off your microbes.

When I flush, I've used either Final Phase or I've just used water. I'm not sure there is a 'better' way to do it, but I know that flushing seems to help the grow taste better when it's done.

good luck!

I think you're a bit confused here, the chemical nutes are what kill the micro herd, ACCT's replenish them, not kill them off.

You might want to do a bit more research.

Yeah, got that. But tje cjemical residuals in the promix. Will the salts in the promix that have built up kill off the microherd in the tea?

Perhaps some, probably not all and another application of ACCT would introduce even more. Eventually they would get built up.
