Fluorogrow t5 Opinions

The 8 lamp, 4' fixture with 4500k (not blue) for bloom is a pretty good light., that will work nicely for 4 plants I use VHO T5's which work very well for all stages of growth, but are expensive.
The 4 lamp fixture will work for 2 plants, marginally, and the 2' ok for 1. If these are for your 1st grow though, I would recommend going for a 400w HID fixture, if heat is not really an issue. It is a economical fixture which would give you better results than the t5. I would highly recommend the Advanced Platinum 300 w LED for around $350 though, as you will save money on energy and bulb replacement cost, so it will be cheaper in the end. Good luck

Thanks. You seem to have missed the part about it being used to augment. I already run 600w. I generally have run MHs all the way while I have tried HPS for flower and discovered I preferred MH. Giving HPS another try with this T5HO UV augmentation. I am just tinkering while happy with my setup. LEDs are in my future...but not near future.

Bottom line is I am looking for opinions on fixture brands.

My mistake.
I use Hydrofarm T5's, but it is expensive. In my opinion, a T5 is a T5, so as long as it burns, one fixture is as good as the next, really. I use t5's as side lighting for my LED's for lower canopy penetration, but I am not sure in your case if it would be worth the extra money. Could you increase to 1000w? That would be better imho. But anyway, the more light the better so the t5's definitely cant hurt. What are you using for the UV?

Yeah, my 600 is fine for now. I grow much more than I need. Right now I am leaning towards
ATI True Actinic bulbs and ATI Coral Plus. Maybe a reptile light thrown in. Also thinking either a 4 bulb, 2 footer or a 2 bulb, 4 footer.

T5 or HPs ...but not together is how I'd run this, with HPS you have the penetration, with the T5 you have the spread, which ain't much, ideal for veg, but come bud time, you need the grunt, Mh in bud is possible tho you really are missing the point...ie...red lights are needed to affect the buds themselves as in ripen them

Ha. Thanks but, you too have missed the point of the thread as well as the rationale behind the augmentation. I hope to get all the reds I need from the HPS and all I am looking for from the t5s is the Blue range/Uv. Yes, if I were going straight t5s I would be adding some red.

Well, it sounds like you got all the info you need. Nice, and good luck with your reptile lights
