Ok my first grow, I started off with two 250 watt halogen lamps.

Thanks to RIU they told me I fucked up, and set up CFLS.

After two months of flowering It seemed to b.growing veryyy slowly...

Thanks to RIU, I confirmed I did not have enough light nor reflection. thus, I purchased a 400 watt apollo, and I notice frost and buds every where within days.

One plant was very fluffy but harvested 24 grams.

The other was grown 12/12 and harvested 14 grams

Not huge, but as a learning experience, it was great.

I learned so much that I missed through my reading. and got my hands on experience

I now Have two mother plants growing, one a clone, one I flipped back to veg and it will provide many clones. as well as one growing from seed.

BTW: My home grown weed may not have won no high time award, but its better than the street sit around here, I'm high as fuck.

Thank you roll it up for helping me get better weed :D

Congratulations on the success of your grow! There is no better feeling in the world than smoking your first harvest. After that there is no hope you are addicted for life to marijuana growing, marijuana smoking/vaping isn't near as fun or as addictive LOL! I flower under 1000W HPS and my buds are rock hard, even under the 600W HPS they were hard. So it's more light to get rid of fluffy. Frankly as long as you get enough for your use it doesn't really matter if it's not tight though. But my understanding is that some Sativa genetics may give you less tight bud too but of course within reason for flowering more lumens are better. Frankly from those images of yours you did SPECTACULAR your first time ;)

You can purchase coco bricks cheap around 12 bucks for a block of it online. That block is 1' x 1' x 6" and it's not terribly heavy. It could probably be shipped to you easily. The Sunshine Mix #4 Advanced which would be the simplest way to start with coco is to heavy to ship. So don't bother if you can't find it locally. Here's an example of the Pro Coir bale I purchased (I purchased mine at my local hydro store so I don't know this vendor):

I currently use Sunshine Mix Advanced #4 which is coco based and at $43 a bale pricey. So I just purchased my first block of Coir and I'm adding 50% (large), Perlite and am inoculating it with Great White. Those are my plans. But first I'm putting the coco block in a Rubbermaid container and adding pH'ed RO water at 5.5. After it re-hydrates I'm going to take a slurry and check the pH and TDS of the run off and see if I need to rinse. Coco coir can contain a lot of salt and may need rinsing. Hopefully I can begin mixing my own Coco base cheaper with as good results. Anyway I hoped some of this might help you, welcome to RIU.

i get all my growing supplies at http://www.htgsupply.com/?gclid=CNLq1uHD7rYCFYFo4AodhEoA6w 2 days at your door

although coco is a little more expensive online+shipping if its posible go to a hydro shop and buy it dot it. i went waaay out of my way to get my last brick bcuz i didnt want shipping to go up 5$ told the sales clerk wow its alot cheaper online i might have to pass turns out he was actually the owner he gave me buy one get one free for 10$ spent hours re hydrating it all filled a yardbag

typically i dont mix mine with anything which is ideal i had a box full of premixed topsoil and perlite i use for shroom grows i mixed altogether to spread out the coco its cheaper then dirt literally but a pita to rehydrate

p.s. really important almost forgot *disclaimer* if you go the coco route put somthing on top once you fill the pots i use hydroton its reusable and cheap but you can use whatever you want soil,perlite... the coco drys out really fast under lights especially hids
