Flowering with, 'reduced' light

Hey folks. Have a fellow caretaker that had a couple extra plants in veg that he's ready to cull. The strain is unknown but the plants are definitely showing female traits.

Rather than throw them away, I had offered to take the plants. Now, I have little use for them as I have my own thing going, but I hate waste, tbh. So, I decided to throw them in my flower room. For the first time ever I have plants on the outside edge of the lamps and they aren't getting a huge amount of light (maybe 20w worth from a hps per ft2 for THESE particular plants, normally 40-50w/ft2).

I am not going to be expanding for this. At all. My question however is if this is a waste of time or should I leave them in there? Anybody ever have a situation like this and was it worth messing with? I can't imagine throwing these out, I mean even if it's shitty I can make some concentrate.

Thoughts?

Just make sure they don't harm you main crop by cutting down circulation or introducing pests etc!!

Thanks for that advice, which is something that should always be considered when bringing any plants in, but often overlooked.
Pretty sure we're totally good to go as far as disease/pests. The guy I got this from runs a VERY tight ship and produces some of the most amazing plants I've ever seen. Pretty much everything he has is perfect and spotless, almost like a goddamned government lab.

Guess we'll see what happens. The original grower said there was a good chance it was Cindy 99, and if it isn't that then it's some random Nepali landrace (which wouldn't be a bad thing either). I tried to identify it based on other plants but the original grower had a lot of conversation of why it looks this way or that. Whatever. The leaves are dark and wide, looks like an indica dominant hybrid, but who knows.

I suppose I'll just leave them in there and see how it goes. Would be a good experiment to see exactly what these things will do in an identical environment of some very strong plants going right now, except for the reduced light issue.

Make sure they don't turn hermys. I took 3 off a friend who also ran a tight ship. One turned hermy and I didn't notice and ya.. Seeded my whole batch... So just saying watch them closely...

Thanks for that, and good point. I will definitely be watching them, but even in veg they are showing strong feminine traits. I do know that my buddy does in fact grow males and breeds, produces seeds, and he has a couple of his own strains. So yeah, males and/or hermies are definitely around.

At this point, a male in the mix would be devastating to me, especially as I have a very rare S. American sativa landrace 4 weeks into bloom.
I will keep an eye on it.

I have a 20" walkway/work area that i fill with 5gal dwc buckets and it is definitely worth it. They are at the end of the rail systems, get just what light makes it there and is always and extra 2-3oz per plant.

pretty much a waste IMO.I've been there done that, not worth it.....
I don't have high expectations personally, but I am curious as to how it will turn out. I look at it like the plants were free, and since I've got some great smoke on the way, I'm not really depending upon these to do anything.

This is the first time I've ever done this. Every plant I have typically gets prime real estate, it's the first time I've deliberately put a plant in flower that had less than ideal conditions. But hey, if it's shit I'll make concentrate, which I'll have to do anyway with the rest of my ladies.
