Flowering Week 6, not sure what to do, please advise...pics

my girls are on week 6 of flowering with week 7 starting in 4 days. I was told and have read that they are ready to harvest when 80% of the hairs turn orange/red. As you can see in the pics some of the hairs have already started turning color, but the buds dont seem very big to me at all. The plants are about 5ft tall under 600W hps with flowering nutes, good air flow, humidity is around 55%, air temp is 75 and ph is good. Am i just being impatient and they will fill out in the next 2 weeks or what? any advise would be great. Thanks.

P.S. Sativa or Indica, What do you think? i cant tell. Thanks again.

hair have nothing to do with being ripe...trichs do. i can get red hairs at week 4 and 5. depends on strains. and from what i see this is a real week light so it will take even longer than normal to be ripe

^True, but they can be used as an indicator of maturity, to a degree. Those in the pics, have just started turning, and are only like 10% turned. BTW, when you estimate the pistils that have turned, count only the ones that have completely turned, not just the tips. Those can turn brown, from just touching them with your arm, for example. In the meantime, look into triclombs, and how to guage maturity, while looking into purchasing a microscope. If you can't pick up some kind of magnification, wait til the pistils are like 95% turned. Those in the pics, aren't even close, and as mentioned, have more than 2 weeks to go, probably more like 3+. I'd guess it's closer to 4 weeks, unless it turns out to be a long-flowering sativa, in which case, you will have 5+, to go.

Your plants are getting near the point where they start putting on weight. Just be patient, it'll happen. Under that 600, they fill out quite a bit. Also, when it's done, it'll look done. It'll also have a slight golden tinge to it, sue to the trichs turing amber, as they come into maturity.

It's a 600 HID. Read before you run your mouth, or risk sticking your foot in it.

one reason why i stay away from growing sativa or sativa dominant strains is because they take so damn long to flower.but i suppose some people will argue, its worth the wait.

You have a long time until harvest - Probably another month.
Keep up the good work, and be patient - it will be worth it in the end.

She is going to take 13 weeks to finish probably, but in the end it is worth it. they are high yielders and the active and head high is like nothing else.

My guess about the buds being so light and whatnot would be how skinny/tall that plant is. Look into "low stress training" and "super cropping" both are methods to keep your plant low down and bushy and you don't even have to top!

Thanks for all the feedback, i know they still have a while to go, ive just never seen a plant to then end before and dont wanna mess it up, so thanks again for all the advise and comments, i really appreciate it.
