flowering plants leaves turning upward

So my plants are in the 4th week of flowering... everythings goin well... buds producing and such..

now im keepin my cfl's real close to the leaves (maybe contributing to the problem) so close that they touch the leaves at times.. i know its not prefered but its my first time and i want bigger buds... so ill have ugly leaves, nicer nugs..

Anyways... yesterday i forgot to shut my door when the lights turned off... the door was open for like 20 mins with a small amount of light getting into the closet.

Today several leaves are turning UPWARD... whats this mean?

Is the plant dying?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

:peace:

Relax,it's not only normal but it's a good sign,a sign that all is well with the plants & that they are happy in their enviroment.

When you see the leaves as if they are reaching for the sun at a 45 degree angle be a happy man because your doing everything right.

Hmmm, not the scenario i had in mind, when i spoke of leaves reaching for the sun i was not refering to the situation you have going on with your plants, you've got some problems,it's way too early in flowering for those plants to be loosing all the fan leaves,it looks to me as if the nutes your giving them are seriously lacking in nitrogen or without nitrogen alltogether,is this correct ? if so you need to start giving them some nitrogen asap.

Next it looks like you have serious heat issues, what is the room temp, canopy temp & temps close to the lights.

Burning all your fan leaves as a sacrifice in order to get more light to the buds is not a worthy sacrifice, your plants can still mature without fan leaves but the buds will not get as large without them.

whoa whoa whoa... I aint givin SHIT up dude... haha fuck that

secondly heres what nutes im using...

The plants are in Fox Farm ocean forest soil, im giving them Fox Farm Big Bloom (0.01-0.3-0.7) and Fox Farm Open Sesame (5-45-19).

i use ozarka spring water.. nothing else

the temps dont get over 86 and never really below 74

Ill move the lights further away from the leaves... I snipped a few of the really gnarly lookin leaves off... it also created some more room for the light to reach the buds

I hope these things arent fucked for good... Im hoping i can get at least an ounce out of both of them... Its my first grow... and it'd be nice to not have to pay for my meds for once

the leaves look so bad cause I have the CFL's literally resting on the leaves... thats what made my leaves curl up so bad says a friend whos gardening...

Unfortunatly i dont have the hygrometer at the tops of the kolas, i just have it resting on a chair like 5 inches away from the plant

I grow in soil & i have no idea what the numbers of the fox farm big bloom represent, the other ferts your giving them i do understand the numbers & they are extremely low in nitrogen for the phase of budding the plants are in,it is also way too high on the P level.

If it were my grow i'd stop using multiple niche market fertilizers & get some Peters or Jacks 20-30-20 granular fertilizer,no matter what you do you need to boost the N & lower the P ratios.

I have great succes with fox farm nutes as grow big, big bloom, tiger bloom!
I used every time double as on the chart! Anyway its no air in that room and you burned your baby! Ionic pro or turbo would help!!!
Even 83 to much!!!

ok first of all, doint be sacrificing leaves for buds, thats retarded, leaves provide so much to the plant that thing looks so BARE (no offense) but in all truth for the developement of the bud and the lacking amount of sites, it looks as if you burning you leaves fucked you out of about 50% of your node sites over the whole grow, which sucks, but seriously get the fucking cfls away if they are touching, im using tehm too and i have like 12 100 watt equivalents and they are all an inch away at closest, cause ive fucking burned a couple of leaves over time, trust me you want them, those buds get the light anyway DO NOT TRIM another leave off of that poor little girl, and i would say your nutes are playing a huge role, along with a heat issue/humidity cause those leaves look cooked and not from contact heat

anyway, with that said, good luck bro those pistils are nice n long though, good thing you arent also twindling your buds they're growing good, looks like 1/2-1 oz if the plant is a big as it seems underneath the cutoff

wel , i dont want to make you unhappy but dont expect this plant to be a nr1 bitch.
on this forum i see many of these problems , but on most pics i dont see how big the pots are people using and the state the soil is wet/dry.
but mostly people use to small pots and then they never wil make it to the end and you wil have plants looking like that , so people looking for solutions with ph/ec and make things worst.
and 20 minuuts light wil not mather to much , im almost very day in my room and leave the door open , and see the quality bitches i make , and i dont use any ph/ec meters.
greets and maybe you can show the pot also , im a bit curious:)
