Flowering plant flopped over? How to prevent this in the future?

I have a plant that just bent over from the weight of the flowers - it didn't break that I could see, it just looked like it just flopped in a "V" like a straw. I now have it staked up and hopefully there will be no issues.
What could I use to strengthen the stems next time? Pro-Tekt?

Usually more air movement is all that's needed to create a hefty stem. And sometimes they still may grow a little off kilter and fall, it's not a big deal to tie em up if need be.

I agree with Supchaka, you should have some oscillating fans blowing your plants to strengthen their stems.

Make sure your light is sufficiently close to your plants too, that's a common cause of stretching!

Thanks. I staked it up with bamboo and garden tape - she won't be flopping anywhere now! Her tops were too heavy for her to support and her stem bent over. I checked the stem and fortunately there were no splits that I could see.
