Flowering Nute question

Hello all,

(using 5g buckets with air stones)
so i have a question here, so the whole PPM thing doesn’t really confuse me, i get it for the most part, however my question is this, lets say that thru veg you run 1kPPM and to get that you mix equal parts (using GH 3 part) so if 1tsp is used, it would be 1tsp grow, micro, bloom, ok when going to flower, what should one use? i know that the bottles have directions for this, but most have said to use 1/2 of the manufactures suggestions, but if more bloom is used it seems to drop the PH from 5.8-5.8 to 4.9 - 5.1. so can someone please answer this, or give an example of a successful mixing practice and forgive the ignorance.

thanks

You will need ph up and down for sure, adding anything to your reservoir will react somewhat with your ph/pmm etc.

You will always add your mixture to your water, and then adjust to ph (also make sure your nutes are added in proper order if need be - some require things to be added first for proper mixture). I use 5.9 to 6.2 and it goes down to 5.4ish sometimes but you just adjust it with up/down, usually the first few days are the worst fluctuation then it should stabilize until you change the res. If you are using GH I would recommend the Lucas forumla as you can run the same throughout.

You have meters for both ph/ppm? If not get some pronto if you are doing hydro, or you are failing before you begin.

yes, ppm and ph meters are a must, i wasn’t sure if it should be 1micro 2 grow and 2 flower, just dnt want to short the flowering nutes.

Well the bottles or GH website should give you a baseline on what and how much, from that you can start. I like to start at 1/2 recommended in DWC then work from there, but if you do the lucas formula do a google search and it should tell you what to add.

HydroMo: You don't have to apologize for your ignorance we all suffer from the same malady. I'm going to give you a little different advice though, go to your local hydro store, where you hopefully bought your nutes, and ask them first. Product knowledge is an important part of customer service and they should be able to help you. If not contact the manufacturer.

I don't use your brand of nutes, but I know Discount Hydro taught me to follow the manufacturer's instructions to the letter. I've used Technaflora's "Recipe for Success," for the last five or six years and you have to mix the five or six component chemicals completely and in a specific order. Out of order, you're sunk. The one thing I can tell you is that I haven't had any of the nute related problems with Technaflora that you guys have with other brands. I know, I probably sound like like a shill but I'm not. I'm just one of their very satisfied customers because part of your problems sound like nutrient deficiencies and one sounds like nute burn.

You might want to try two other things: one, put this into the plant problems section. They have some sharp 'plant doctors' there. Second, RTFB. Cervantes and Rosenthal both deal extensively with plant problems and you may well find the answer to your problems there a lot quicker than you will here. I hope this helps. HSA

I have the same problem free results with DynaGro at 1/2 strength their recomendations, you sound more like a Technaflora rep trying to get a sale then giving advice. I didn't mention brands as everyone has a different brand "they" think is better or good for some reason. Use what works for you, but from most our findings and you can "search" as well but in DWC less is more, so MOST if not ALL manufacture claims of dosages is more then enough if not toxic sometimes to DWC. Be careful with that advice, and as always though do what works for you.

Hydromo: next grow you might want to try Technaflora's, "Recipe for Success." My hydro store started me on it about years ago and I haven't looked back because I haven't had the problems you read about here. I hope that helps. HSA
