so this is my second time doing a cabinet grow and last time i had two males in my scrog. and i was wondering if it would hurt the plant or my final product if i flowered them while their young like say a few inches tall just so i can determine the sex by the preflowers and then switching back to veg to grow them out bigger before i flower again to actually harvest.

Take a clone and flower that, and keep the other plants vegging. You will waste alot of time reverting them back and forth.

definitely, either way you shouldn't be so impatient with them, the male pod appears in plenty of time before it pops open to pollinate so i say just let them hit flowering when they're ready and remove the males before the sacks burst.

i had a period right after my 24 hour cycle this last grow, timer fucked up, that went into 12/12 and i didnt even catch it for a week... well as soon as i caught it and put it into 18/6 within a few days the male showed sex, i pulled it and a few days later the other showed up female, i didnt really even see a stunt in growth. infact it has been extreamly healthy and fast growing. i see no problem doing this.

just make sure you dont keep it in 12/12 untill you see full on flowering, take it out after a week, that should be long enough for it to start sexing but not long enough to be in full on flower mode. making resorting back to veg that much easier.

No real harm as they like the light. However after they show pre flowers, growth after, even in veg, is alternating growth...one shoot per node as opposed to two. Also they will set flowers faster when returned to 12/12.
