Flowering Day 5: Satori, Chrystal HPS

Quite a few bumps in the road so far, but I've definately learned a lot. Chrystal went through some hard times, but most of them made it. The Satori are going strong. Ten plants in flower (5 of each) and two Chrstal vegging. Three confirmed females so far, already downed one male. Looks like I'll be chopping at least one more today. Using FF nutes (1/2 strength right now) in FF OF soil. Without further ado, here they are:

Those three close-ups all look like males to you guys?
All input is appreciated!

Nice looking setup! Hope all goes well.
Hey thanks. The seeds weren't fem'd so before I put them all into flower I took two clones off of each and marked down which was which. That's the tupperware you see there. Definately learn a lot doing it the first time. I've realized that it's not worth it trying to save five bucks here or ten bucks there, just do it once and do it right. Could've saved myself at least a hundred bucks if I'd realized this sooner. You doing any farming bulldog?

The first and last pics in the top row are def. males. - can't tell on the rest.
Hey thanks for the quick reply. They'll be waking up in an hour and I'll pull those and take new photos of the others. I'm eager to get the sausages out of my pussy farm.

Do not be too eager... You are just looking at preflowers... I though i had some male preflowers kuz they never grew hairs but it is def. a full blown female that i have and i let it go 2 weeks into flower until i knew that it was a she...

I think thet look like boys but you will be ok to let them flower fully... It takes awhile for those lil sacs to do their damage... You will be 100% sure it is a male flower site (lots of sacs) long before they have the chance to explode on you...

My boys took 15 days of flower for even the very first pod to "drop his bananas" to quote FDD... I love that analogy... =] And i was well aware he was a male by day 10 flower...

My point give it a few days before you rip them up just to be sure you have nut sac sites and not just shaved or slow growing poon... =]

Alright, I'm gonna hack the 4th one down, leave the rest for now. Lights come on in less than 5 minutes... I'm liking both FDD's and your analogies. I'm hoping for shaved poon... as always

hey smartfood,
how old are yoor plants from seed?

As for the farming? I grew a couple of ladies last year and just ran out of smoke a few days ago. Order some whitewidow and bubblelicious the other day and will start them as soon as they arrive.

Good Luck with the pussy farming

Two males have bitten the dust and one hermie as well. I'll update with pics in a couple of days; I'll have some free time coming up soon.

The Chrystal were like 7-8 weeks from seed (but went through some rough times). The Satori were about 4 weeks from seed but have been pampered. I had worked out most of the kinks before they popped. It's been a little over a week now since flower, so Chrystal are at 8-9 and Satori are at 5 weeks. The Satori are looking good--seem to be a very stable strain. The Chrystal have prolific branching/sprouting, but like I said they had it rough to start off with. Gimme a couple of days and I'll update with pics.

Thanks man! Down to seven plants now (tossed another male). My girlfriend just left town and she took her camera with her, so I won't be able to update pics for probably about a week. They'll be at three weeks flowering by then :) Small budsites are developing and the plants are lookin' good! I'll provide some eye candy as soon as I can :blsmoke:

I'm liking the method of growing out the plants first to look for desireable traits before turning females into mothers. I have 3 female Chrystals (nirvana) and 3 Satori (Mandala). One of the female Chrystals has three growths per node, while the other two have only two. Seems like the clones from this plant would be higher yielding than the other Chrystal. The Satori have showed a lot of genetic variance but don't look like they'll yield as much (however they do typically take a week longer). Without further ado, here are the pics I took this morning along with some pics of the clones I've taken.

Fresh pics as of 5 minutes ago. The Chrystal look great, but I'm a little disappointed in the Satori in terms of production so far... Any and all comments are welcomed!

Your plants look really nice, with the exception of the clones... but they'll bounce back once they get some nice roots. I dont know anything about growing in soil, but I DO know that cloning Satori hydroponically is super easy.

My Satori look much like yours, I'm just hoping that the buds eventually fill out and fatten up. I have plenty of light on them, so they should be fat and dense.

Do you give your plants C02?
