flood and drain system

Please, you are getting on my last nerve. These tables flood and drain properly. Just because you can't build one don't discourage others. Sometimes what you can buy doesn't match the room. And I wouldn't recommend putting a couple hundred pounds of water on some cheap saw horses. Just in case you are having a problem seeing those three tables and why and how they work here's a couple more for you.

i can build one thankyou but i just dont think its worth it, you buy like lets say your doing 4x4 table, you buy supply that will cost about 30-40 thats wood nails. ok now you put that together cutting wood nailing/drilling stuff together when you can just put another 50 dollar to get a 4x4 flood table. and did i mention a smaller table like a 2x4 is cheaper like 30 dollars? I dont even use horse thing it was a suggestion, i actually use plastic stool and it work just as great all i did was put a none slip thing under it and i have a stab le table.

i see the point with the proper draining that was what i was thinking but if i put a lid on the top and rested the lid of the pots on that i could have a couple of mm for draining. i would buy 1 but im trying to cut down on costs as much as possible. does anyone know where u can get the t5 from im not sure there in australia yet. and would a couple of t5 be better than a 400watt hps?

Ask Al B Fuct were to get stuff in Australia. Yes the T-5 8 tube light will be better than a 400 watt hid. First of all, it puts out more lumens then the 400 watt. Second it produces heat evenly across the 4' tubes instead of 8" of bulb, so you can put it closer to the plants. Third, the light is spread more evenly across the Sea of Green. It work as well as if not better then a 600 watt hid light.
For some reason folks seem to have missed the fourth post in the thread about the table. I was reminded about the drainage. And I included $30.00 for the cost of the mat when I priced the table. This mat is used by businesses that have walkin coolers. Its made to keep your feet out of any water on the floor. This is what my room looked like last night. I think I'll stick with my stupid way of doing things. Maybe one day I'll wise up and limit myself to what is available on the market. VV

I'm sure glad you explained its great for vegging. Guess I had better throw out table three. They aren't vegging. Maybe you could post some pictures of how you use one for vegging. I always wonderd why they bothered producing red spectrum bulbs for lights that are only good for vegging. Guess the didn't consult Waffle before manufaturing them. VV

sounds like a idea to buy a few of them instead of a 400watt then how much did ur whole set up cost vv? looks sweet wish i had enough room to put that many plants in ay. the mat your talking bout is it like those rubber ones they use for door mates or somthing differnt? cant wait to get this up and running ay i know this is like 1 of those questions that no1 can realy answer but if i was using 4 t5s had a ozonator so that would enrich the oxygen right? and vegged for about a month and flowerd for a month how much would i yield dry per plant? just wondering because mostly i will be selling as i cant smoke weed to much because theres alot of depression in my family and iv heard u can get realy messed up if u smoke alot with genetics against you

these are pictures of the mats U use. You will notice the waffled design ( couldn't help it) on the bottom. They are about 3/4" thick and come 3' by3'. I cut mine, any razor knife will do, and place them in the table. You can easily cut around flood and drain fittings. Some of the mats are orange. I have had these for years. Anytime I have plumbing to do that involves drains I use them to keep my ass out of the water. Geat for working under cars, oil doesn't affect them.
Ok Waffle, it was a matter of time. I needed something and didn't want to invest the time right then to make my own. Those came in packages of forty for about $3.50, and I needed to cover 100 plants. Couldn't take the time to cut 100 right then. I also am collecting signatures to put MMj on the 2008 ballot for the state of Michigan, and there was an event I needed to go to. I collected about 100 signatures that night @ $1.00 per signature:roll:, so I guess I can afford to throw away the $10.00.
What I don't understand is: What is your point?? If you look at the original post I made of that flood and drain table, I explained I wasn't doing this to save money on the table, I was doing it to fit my room size, and I believe I mention they are readily available in a 4' by4' size for about the same cost. So whats your fucking problem. And did I mention neither two feet by four feet or four feet by four feet fit my room size. How many others have posted a flood and drain table construction?? I don't have stock in forestry products.
Look closer and you will see my first table was bought. Its one meter square and guess what, 3 of them won't fit my room size either. I sold it to a friend of mine that has seen it in operation. It does fit his room size. Nothing wrong with buying for your room size. If I take off the cost of the pump, coca, pots, ph testing kit and nutrients I received when I bought it and the $50.00 he paid for it, it didn't cost me anything to buy. It just doesn't fit my room size. It can save you time and money. If it fits your room size. Doesn't have that neat waffled design either. But that doesn't mean I don't like you ................................yet. VV:evil:

I bought the 4'-8 tube t-5 for $240.00 including the bulbs. With the 400 watt I could only put 12 plants on that size table and get a decent yield. Now I have 20. The inspiration for all of it was AL B Fucts post, How to get a Harvest Every Two Weeks. He uses (4) four foot by four foot flood and drain tables along with a small mother/cloning area, with (2) 1000 watt modified light to get 13-16 oz of bud every two weeks. Suggested reading for any serious beginning grower. Imagine, an aussie growin weed. If you can't get the mats you could use anything that raises the bottom of the pots, yes I use pots, off the bottom of the table. Before I decided to cut my mats I considered using pvc pipes laid in the table. We can buy it in 10' lenght for about $1.65. Cut 30" lengths. 2 cut this way would do the table. VV

If you are interested in Alphaones setup, here's a link to the complete instructions, 11 Plant Start.
I've used this system but you're better off using larger PVC and three litre bottles. With larger plants, the two litre bottle become root bound fairly quick and then work their way into the sytem causing clogs. I used screens to plug the bottom but the roots just worked right through them. Still, a nice cheap setup for small plants and can be made to any size.

vicy i think you are blowing this thing way out of proportion, this thread is yours on how to construct a flood table. and thanks for all this, but you started getting angry i guess because i was just warning others that it will be alot easier if you just go purchase one they don't cost alot just incase someone out there decided that having a built flood table is better. anyways i got no time to argue because i know when shit happens and its time to shut down i'll shut down faster and easier then you. Peace.

I got that light on a special. My hydro shop told me the bulbs were included which I had been told by the owners son, but the price including the bulb was not what they listed in the computer. They said it, they stand behind it. When I went back for the second one today, they realized the mistake they made and charged me the right price of $329.60. Still worth it in my opinion. Replacement bulbs are $12.95. VV
