I'm in veg with a 125w 6400k cfl. I have a 250w 2700k for flower. My ques is, when I flip the lights 12/12, will I have less stretch if I leave the 6400k bulb in for awhile (1-2 weeks after flip)? Or should I just put in the 2700k right when I flip?

I would say go ahead and switch em I just put mine into 12/12 2 days ago and have had all my 16x 23w 2700k cfl the day of the switch and usually do change bulbs the day of switch
I wouldn't worry bout the stretching too bad ur gonna have sum flowering stretch regardless and if it hasn't stretched under smaller 125 then should be fine just keep it close as possible cfl are not great at light penetrating canopy so the closer the better!
Good luck

I wouldn't wait til flower formation but an extra week wouldn't hurt and might help with the stretch a bit and give the plants more bulk. My experience with CFL @ 3000K was more stretch than I wanted, so it's an interesting idea.

Thanks for the info! I've noticed the nodes are much closer together since I purchased the clone and put it under the 125w, 6400k. I've been reading RIU dating back to 2007 on cfl's, and get different opinions on the flip, leaving both spectrums running or not during flower, etc. Peace!

Thanks Rahz. I like the sound of that.
