Fishing

I fish usually 3-4 times a week depending on the weather.
I don't like to fish while it's raining.

I don't try catch anything specific, cuz I throw everything back.
Plus, where I go the fisherman books recommend that you don't eat the fish due to all the crap in the water.

For me I fish with worms.
I cast out, sit down on my chair, crack open another beer, Smoke a bowl, and relax.

I don't call myself a fisherman.
I'm just out there to collect my thoughts.

exactly. for one, fishing in the rain is tough because the water gets all muddy and the fish are less active.
sometimes i go fishing with a journal and write about my life, or even poetry. anything to get my thoughts out.

love fishing and crabbing, mates and I usually go fishing once a week and try and go on camping missions all the time, great fun!

use all sorts of bait from yabbies, prawns, squid and pillies for fish and mullet, fish skeletons and pig head for crab bait. fish and crab in the creeks for bream, flat head, mud crab, mangrove jack and whatever else, hit up off shore for sand crabs, reef fish and big days drinking and getting burnt :P

anyway i love it, good way to relax, especialy with a few greenies and esky full of piss

Fly fishing is not restricted to topwater, a good shooting head system with a deep water express line in 12 wt netted the 4lb test tippet world record halibut on fly for me several years back. 19 lb 11 oz. Caught one over 40 but on heavier tippet.
Peace

Sleep typing he was.....
more like drunk typing lol. long story short. my friend cut the bathroom line and he got into a fight with security. i tried to stop my boy and a security guard grabbed me and put me in a sleeper hold and i flipped him over my my back. i kept saying stop, stop im trying to help. and another security guard punched me in the back of the head..........and thats when the fight broke out..........
but the owner was cool and realized it was a misunderstanding and didnt press charges.

but fishing befor that was fun, we didnt cath anything but my boy caught a tree fish(inside joke). but i bet u can guess what he did lol

This one went 270, but on conventional tackle. We call these "neighbor fish" - as in you can feed all the neighbors w/ one fish. Pretty cool looking but the chickens eat better.
Peace

i've angled for my entire life. fishing is allllllllll logic. why use a dark lure when it's night time. why use a floating lure when there are a lack of bugs on the surface? if you were a fish, where would you want to be? Near food and shelter. as far as technique goes, you need to learn by experience

i love fishing and i think i have an ok understanding of where the fish will be. (bass) mostly cuz thats what i go for. its just the colors of the lures that gets confusing. people get technical with that shit. i mostly just stick to red cuz it is the color of blood and fish love a wounded easy meal

Most birds and fish actually have excellent color vision. Fish actually have quite good color vision and most have three types of cones like humans do. Some deep water fish that live very deep in the water do not see that well though but then there is not very much light. With so little light no organism would see well regardless of how many types of cones it had. In fact a fish known as the skate, is the only confirmed animal that truly sees in black and white (Fig 4).

Fig 4. A skate, the only animal whose eye contains no cones and therefore only sees in black and white.
This means that different colored fishing lures probably do play a large rule when trying to catch fish. For example, chartreuse is a common color of fishing lure, but it also is in the middle of most fishes color range so there is good reason to use a chartreuse lure when fishing. Goldfish actually see a wider range of color than human do. That is because goldfish have four different cone types, one of which can detect ultraviolet light invisible to humans.
