Hello rollitup, me and my brother will have a trip to Amsterdam this November, i'd like to ask you a few things.

First of all, should we book a hotel on the internet? And if so, what sites do you recommend? Should i look for hotels near the center?
What coffee shops should we visit?
What other places should we visit? Our both hobby is photography, we would love to take some beautiful landscape photos.
Is the cannabis cup expo worth to go?

If you have any other info or tips to share please do  thanks!

My best advice is take triple the money your are planning to take. Last time i went to dam for a week i took 2 grand and i ran out of money by the 5th day... When there rent a scooter and go cutting about the outskirts looking for coffeeshops. The best quality of weed is always in the outskirts where the locals go to, menus are short and some strains older than you probably but the quality will be like personal stash. In the centre there are in my opinion only a bit more than a hanbdful of coffeeshops worth visiting. Id also avoid staying in the centre centre if you rent a scooter its much cheaper to stay out of the centre.
Best place to eat is called burger bar, dont eat anywhere else just not worth it.

Sheet anyone remember a few years ago in Amsterdam how they had those kebab places that made kebabs inside margharita pizzas? That was like tiiiiime ago when i last noticed that. I remember one day i ate three of them in a row and the guy wouldnt charge me because he said he never seen anyone eat three in one sitting. Whatever happened to those kebabs man?

I also agree on having more money than you anticipate. Every time i've been I've always massively underestimated how much to take.

I also agree on the central coffee shops, especially at cup time. The gf and I were there last november, and most of the coffee shops we visited in the center were rinsed of any potentially good strains, and only had poor quality stuff available. A lot of them also couldn't give a shit about customer service because there is no need, the money comes in regardless.

One coffee shop i did really like was the dolphin coffee shop. really friendly and helpful staff, had a couple of really nice strains (the staff were considerate enough when i was asking for a sativa to warn me that it was a sativa hybrid with a big couch lock hit, and that if i was after a more heady high to try a cheaper strain they had, not many shops will advise you to spend less!) It's also 100m down the road from an utterly amazing bbq joint called Cafe de Klos. Get there early! You won't be let down. get there late, and you'll have to wait for an hour to get a seat.

I go to Amsterdam a few times a year. Tourists can still buy weed in Amsterdam, all Amsterdam is is tourism. I use Booking.com for all my hotel stays including Amsterdam and ironically enough Booking.com headquarters sits at the Rembrant Square. I like staying close to the Red Light District. The Red Light District is where the concentration of pubs and smoke shops are as well as restaurants. If you don't want to be driving around I'd stay within walking distance to the Red Light. You can hop a train from the airport right to Central Station. The trains run like every 15 or 30 minutes. Once you get off at Central a Station you are a five minute walk away from the Red Light. Have fun. Amsterdam is the greatest continuous freak show on earth. I love sitting at a sidewalk pub with a cold beer watching the show walk by.

you should book a flight to Colorado, better laws, better hotels. I think they pretty much killed the foreigner buying pot in Amsterdam now? " You may be surprised to learn that recreational drugs are illegal in the Netherlands. Yes, even pot. "
The whole foreigners banned buying pot in amsterdam thing is utter hogwash. One politician suggested the idea and year later the internet is still for some reason under the impression that the weed pass exists.

And Colorado is in America, so I'll stick with Amsterdam ;)

In all seriousness it's rather awkward when dude is staring you down in the showers. Pretty sure he didn't even come there to workout and had just been standing in the showers for 2 hours.

Complete bullshit. Anti-Amsterdam propaganda by Colorado fan or something... There are over 150 coffeeshops in Amsterdam alone. I go every 6 weeks or so... Only the sale of mj by growers TO coffeeshops is illegal ("backdoor problem"). Selling 5 gram per person per coffeeshop is not illegal, they actually have a permit to do so, some for decades... Also, the use of recreational drugs (any kind) is not illegal.

The whole foreigners banned buying pot in amsterdam thing is utter hogwash. One politician suggested the idea and year later the internet is still for some reason under the impression that the weed pass exists.
That's partly because in another area it's still relevant, which is in the south-east, a province where no Amsterdam-tourist goes but many Germans, French, and our Belgium neighbors went to to buy. Part of the reason Amsterdam is closing shops (still will be over 150...) is because they made a deal with that politician, instead of implementing the I-criteria (that's the weed pass, having to be dutch citizen to buy) they remove shops that are closer than 250m to a school.
