First timer asking for recommendation

I want to start my first grow. I will be growing inside in soil, in a small concealed room with a very low ceiling (around 4')

I am looking for a strain that is:

1. Is a great smoke
2. Is short
3. Is easy to grow
4. Is easy to clone

What do all you more experienced folks suggest?

Also, I'm looking to order from nirvana-shop how is there packaging? My kid usually gets the mail and I don't want him to have a clue what is in the package.

Thanks

I wouldn't try your first grow with expensive seeds. Try a run with bag seeds first, get your feet wet, then try the good seeds.

train wreck or super silver Haze is good for beginers i heard. not all that short but you could make it short. both have very high thc % and easy to clone :)

well, your answer is going to be whatever the strain description tells you. Usually before I order something.. I want to know what it is before I spend the money right? So.. you should call them and ask. Or contact them some how and ask them. Im talking about the seed banks. Contact the seed banks.. which ever ones you use.. and ask them what they would suggest for ya.

I personally... for my first couple of grows and attempts.. I used bagseed as a training module. Ehh.. if it messes up.. you have a few more seeds usually with regs.

Uhmm... as for growing a short plant? You don't really HAVE to have a strain that is
described as a 'short plant' to have a short
plant. You need to do some more reading bro. Thats my advice to you.. :) Good luck.

FYI: You can control the final height of your
plant or plants.

Like i said, my recommendation to ya like I said.. is to read. READ READ READ!!!

That's what I did.. and still do; and still to
this day.. I still have things I am not sure
of. Things I still don't know.

ya dig?
good luck though man!
peace..:leaf:

@frmrboi - Thanks I was leaning towards that and blue Mystic which seems similiar.

@Feroce - I'd love to, but the stuff I buy doesn't have seeds and I rarely buy anyway. I'm doing this more for personal experience.

@MR M3RKLEZz - I looked at lowryder and some other auto flowering ones, but from what I have read you really can't clone them because they really aren't ever in a veg state. Correct me if I'm wrong.

@Woomeister - That looks interesting, what is a good place to purchase? (I live in the states)

@shalie4200 - Thanks

@ganjaluvr - Thanks, I've been reading quite a bit and will continue to do so.

Thanks for the recs, anyone know about my other question (the nirvana packaging?)

just to second the northern lights choice, just did a nl#5 grow, very potent smoke
and the height is quite manageable, vegged to 5 inches - flowered out to 29 inches - 35 grams of dry bud

Thanks growone, where did you order from (if you don't mind me asking). I see a lot of NL, but haven't run across the #5 strain from a reputable seller.

If you have width check this link: https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/136974-super-cropping.html

From all the reading that I did to decide which seeds to get I first decided the type of high that I wanted and went from there. I wanted something that would be fun to go golfing or walking my dogs, whatever so I went with NY diesel. Eventually I want to have something to just zone me out and relax (maybe get the giggles) I will go with white widow or something like it.

But since you can control the height you can get away with pretty much w/e you like.

I wouldn't try your first grow with expensive seeds. Try a run with bag seeds first, get your feet wet, then try the good seeds.

Advising someone to start out with bagseed is not good advice.

Herb grown to be smoked does not assure fully mature seeds. Immature seeds can and will have low germ rates to not germing at all.

If they pop their growth can be anything less than vigorous.

There can be a laundry list of problems that go with growing poor seeds and that can greatly confuse a new grower causing them to believe the problems are their fault instead of the fault of the immature beans.

The chances of knowing what the exact strain of bagseed is, is very unlikely unless it came from the person who grew it and they are totally honest.

They may tell you something like White Widow but with there being about 25 knockoff White Widow strains plus the original that was renamed Black Widow asking what do I do to grow White Widow will get them many different conflicting answers from people who grew various different knockoff White Widow strains.

In the end the person will not know what they actually have and how best to care for it and what the rough flowering time is.

If someone has a limited amount of space picking bagseed is a poor choice since they will want females and with bagseed you will have mixed regular seeds so they may end up with few if any females so buying feminized beans is a far better option if space and lighting is at all a limitation.

Some people say well bagseed is free but the person already paid for the herb or will have to purchase the herb to get the seeds so they are still paying for the seeds no matter how you look at it.

For example: Royal Queen Seeds, pack of 5 feminized beans $20.40 (USD). Green House Seeds Big Bang, pack of 5 feminized beans, $34.01 (USD). Green House Seeds The Church, pack of 5 feminized beans, $34.01 (USD). Green House Lemon Skunk, pack of 5 feminized beans, $34.01 (USD). Seedsman Seeds White Widow, pack of 5 feminized beans, $39.12 (USD).

Will the bag that likely has unknown seeds of dubious quality and maturity cost less?

Virtually any breeder’s gear is a better option for new growers than bagseed.

Even if the bagseed came from quality herb as I previously mentioned growing for sales/smoking does not assure mature viable beans so regardless if the herb was good that in no way means the beans will be.

Pick what you best like in a high or stone and then research professional breeder’s lines for inexpensive feminized beans and it will be a far better option that picking bagseed.

If someone cannot afford inexpensive feminized beans they cannot afford the bag of herb they will have to buy, or already bought to get regular mixed beans of dubious quality, and they will not be able to afford all else that will go along with growing their beans out.

Start with bagseed from the BEST shit you can find around town just to get use to how things work. If you fuck up you can always get more bagseed and your only out the money you spent on the bag you bought. Also as ganjaluvr said, You need to READ UP alot more before you just jump in. I recommend "Buds for Less: Grow 8oz. of Marijuana for less than $100". Its Easy, Cheap, and Fast. From the Information provided In this book, you can expand on the principles laid out.

P.S.- Plant height can be controlled by container size, Veg. Length, Pruning/Topping, and Light Proximity plus more.

got my beans from highgrade-seeds, smaller breeder in canada
very good rep for delivery, pretty good rep for his seed
$55 for 10 + 2-3 free seeds per pack, so it's about $4 per seed
i found highgrade's version to be everything that nl#5 is supposed to be, very low odor during flower, squat indica appearance, strong pine odor in the bud, and very potent and long lasting high

and i'll second Brick Top's take on using some a known strain for your 1st try
i just did my 1st grow indoors(used to grow a lot outdoors), but not having the extra unknown of what you're trying to grow is literally priceless
i had my problems during the grow which i sorted out, but if i had been trying to sort out if it was screwy seed traits would have made it a nightmare

This is the original real deal, F5, from the oldest seed company in North America:
http://www.vancouverseedbank.ca/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=252
The VSB does not ship to the USA though. (Note this is their second best selling strain)
This company does ship to the US and has the full line of BCSC seeds
