First Time Outdoor Grow

So during veg my plants looked healthy and thriving, but once flower was starting my fan leaves started turning yellow and eventually turning burnt brown and falling off. I live in the south east of the USA. The strain is from Ace Seeds - Killer A5 Haze. I’m wondering if these plants stunted and if I should just cut them down as a loss?

What is the temperature on your deck?
During my first grow, I kept plants on my deck but they did not grow well and went yellow. The problem might have been that it was too hot due to solar heating of the deck which heats up the pots and the hot air rising harms the plants.

.... but ... I might be wrong.

It is really hot, most days 90+ still. I go out a few times to spray the pots down with water from my hose to try to keep them cool. I’m curious if the plants are still on track to flower properly cause it’s already September

Have you taken the temperature at leaf level?
Remember that hot air rises from your hot deck.
My deck sometimes gets so hot I can't walk on it in bare feet.
I haven’t, but it’s like 96 outside right now. Is there a good way to keep them cool? I’ve been going outside periodically and spraying the pots with my hose

Should I just spray the pots on the outside to try to keep them cool and stop watering the soil?
I would get red of sucker leave's they just going to turn yellow and fall off. Let it dry out some .And stop putting a lot of shit on it you are over feeding and water. Some time's mine will be dry for a few day's before it water's again.Don't over think it. Dixie

I really appreciate the advice thank you!!

I would take those 5g and get some 20g totes. Just fill the tote with dirt with the 5 gallon in the middle. You don’t even got to take the plant out of the 5g pot. The purpose isn’t to upsize it is to give a cooler area around the root zone. Those look like they suffering from heat badly to me.

Those pots are cooking the roots. They are black and I bet you in the center of your pot on a hot day it could get to 100 degrees or more in there, then not enough cooling overnight into another hot day and your roots are cooking. I dont know what you can do now as like a sunshield for your pots but maybe someone else can chime in with some ideas. All I can think is cause you probably still have 8 weeks or more on that you could transplant into something bigger and a pot thats white or light colored. Maybe some cheap white cloth from the store wrapped around?

My Brother In Law has a similar set up, though his pots are on his third floor rooftop and same thing. This makes a ton of sense @Cpappa27

Yeah it's been really hot, I bought 15g fabric pots after starting this grow. I'm gonna cover the plastic pots with burlap tomorrow and hope they bounce back.

I'm gonna cover them with burlap tomorrow and give it time to see if they develop more and if not I'll cut them as a loss
