First time in flower

Hey everyone!

This is my very first grow and was looking to see if anyone had some opinions on how my buds are progressing, I feel like they just aren't packing any weight. I'm 3 weeks in from when I switched over to 12/12. I run 2 450w Led grow lights in a 48x24x36 mylar tent. I feed Fox Farm trio every other watering with a day break in between. Any criticism or advice is welcome. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Welcome...

Patience is a virtue. 3 weeks is still quite early. Budz will really start to fatten and ripen starting like the 5th week. Also, how about a pic of the whole plant? If you want critique on the grow...we will need to see it.

I started very basic but you can see a went a little crazy at the end. Here are a few pictures of my girl over the past few months.

Looks pretty good. One thing that I found was that the watering schedule in flowering can sometime be erratic. When you water, feel how much it weighs. Let it get dry before you water again.
Also, make sure pots are large enough for root mass. If you have to repot, the earlier the better. Most repot before flower (7to14 days seems to be common).
Main thing is patience. Hardest part.
Read your plant. She will tell you what she needs.

Thanks for the advice! I made the mistake of starting my seeds in too big of a pot and ended up getting pot bound very quick. I moved to a 16 inch pot and I can tell it's pretty tight again.

Then repotting should happen now. These ladies will grow 1.5X their size in the next few weeks. Sooner the better. You don't want to stress them out later in flower.
I know because I waited too long. Any advice I give is from personal experience. I'm good at making mistakes, lol.

IMHO and not to be disagreeable...the plant should stay in the pot she is in at this point. 3 weeks into flower a good deal of the stretching is done. The roots have likely self pruned for the most part and are not growing much more. The plant is getting close to the end of it's life cycle and is committing as much energy as she can to bud production...it's a pro-creation thing. Therefore the budz are really going to start to fatten...more pistils equals more chance to get pollenated. That is why when I was in my mid-to- late 30's I had a real smorgasbord of 'playmates' women get real...frisky...when their bodies start to tell them that they need to get pregnant. MMMMMMMMMMM Memories! ...Where's my Viagra???

Also, a transplant at any time is going to cause shock and slowed growth. That is obviously not what you are looking for...you want quicker growth and bigger budz. Also, personally I would never transplant my gurlz in flowering unless something drastic made it absolutely necessary to avoid herbicide or the incarceration of their father.

But this is your grow not mine...get other opinions and make the choices yourself...your medicine your decisions.

You have way more experience than I. I guess my thought was if he was going to have to, now would be better than later.
Do you think both Sats and Indis are done with roots in that time frame?

Well, don't misunderstand...the roots have not totally stopped growing and a transplant would have been a good idea...well before it was needed. personally I go from 1.5 pint pots to my 5 gallon finishing pot. 1 transplant per plant per cycle. Less shock more growth. Same difference for Sativa or Indica.

I think that tent might not be tall enough for your plants. Unless you had a short veg but you must figure the plant will double in size when you make the 12/12 switch. Anyone else agree? Good job on your low stress training. Is that aluminum foil I see or the tent lining?

Yes and no...in general a plant will double in size after 12/12 induction. However, that does not necessarily have to mean upward growth. Through super cropping, LST, ScroG, SoG, Mainlining etcetera a grower can control how big his/her gurlz grow and in what direction. I grow in a tent that is just over 5 feet tall. After you deduct space for the light and the pot I have about 3 feet for the actual plant. I super-crop, LST, and ScroG my gurlz. That is my current grow in my avatar

Right. But 3 feet is crazy small. I think they made tents that short

I agree my tent isn't as tall as I would like but I have to grow in a converted shed so for my next grow I would like to replace the closet in the shed lined with foil with a taller tent and use the taller one for flower. Thanks for noticing my LST! I figured sinceI I have low space I better learn quick or I wouldn't get much return.
