Hey, I live in the southwest corner of canada and I recently (end of august) planted some seeds which have now sprouted. I realize this is not the usual time of year for an outdoor cannabis plant as the days will now be getting shorter but I was just wondering if I could use these plants to get a few seeds or more importantly if the plants could survive the winter and maybe produce some flower next summer. It could get cold around here so I was thinking I could move them to a sunny window indoors during winter.

  • First off you would need a male plant in your crop to pollinate a female plant to get seeds
  • Unless you have a light setup inside your outdoor plant/s most likely aren't going to survive just being in the window during winter especially in Canada
  • "I realize this is not the usual time of year for an outdoor cannabis plant as the days will now be getting shorter" plants use photoperiod to know when to switch from veg growth (what happens with more than 12 hours of light ) to flower when the plant starts to bud after less than or only 12 hours of light a day so it is the time for plants to be outside to start producing buds aka flowering
