First time grower, help me choose strain!

Hello my friends,

I’m about to start my first grow in organic soil under HID. I’m using a 600W MH during vegetative growth and a 600W HPS for flowering. I received my seeds recently and was wondering which one is best for me to start with.

1. Sensi Seeds Northern Lights Feminised
2. Paradise Seeds Sensi Star Feminised
3. Dutch Passion Master Kush Feminised
4. GHS White Widow Feminised

I’m planning to grow 3 plants for now and looking for a potent (but not too couch lock) high yielder.

I’ll be very thankful for any help and advise from you guys. :)

Go for one of each, a little variety of smoke will be nice in the end. It will be a little more challenging since they could grow at different rates and some made need to be fed more than others but in the end it'll pay off. Plus if you take good notes your future grows will be much easier as youll already have a general idea of how each strain grows

Northern lights is a good one to begin on, it's easy to grow and will give you some good smoke. Or yeah just do a variety and see what ya like best.

I've grown #1 and #2 on your list.

#1 was tall and had a better than average yield and it was fast. If I remember correctly I harvested her at 6 weeks flowering.
#2 Was short and wide so I didn't have to FIM or top her to keep her short the way I like them. Buds were orangy in color.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Master Kush by Dutch Passion is absolutely amazing. Great yielder, can take some abuse, bomb smell and trich production, and drop the temps to about 50 degrees for about a week and a half and she will purp on you. Like really purple .

I'd do the master kush, had great results with bubba and afghan from other breeders, and they seem pretty resilient with stony, narcotic highs, and ductch passion's blueberry is one of my favorites.

I guess you have a choice, find your favorite of the strains or find your favorite of a strain. I would either do 1 of #1,3 and 4 or do all 3 of the same from different seeds. My goal would be to pick a favorite and keep a clone for round 2 of your favorite, run new seeds with it and keep that process going until you find a kickass mom you don't want to replace, then run 2 clones and 1 seed each run, maybe you will find a super kickass mom.

i have to disagree for his first grow..there is too much to get used to and having different strains with different needs sets up the beginner for a failure.

and it's a yielder, easy to pop.

white widow fem can be a finicky pop..always seems straight up indies are like that and sat's pop easily and say "here i am"!!!

Good point, OP, do you have experience growing? Not specifically weed, but just growing?
Thanks for your advise dude.

Yeah. I’ve grown some cacti from seeds and cuttings and some ornamental plants in the past. I’m not new to growing.

What's your opinion on Sensi Star for a first time grower? I've heard so many good things about her.

Can I expect a good (above average) yield if I start with this one? I've been told by a friend that SS is a great yielder, but some grow journals says the opposite!

Yes. Because the plants tend to be short I had to boost the plant closer to the light. The closer to the bulb the better your yield will be. Makes the nugs bigger and tighter. I grew in small pots, like 1 1/2 gallon, and used nute-water every day.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Anything you get is more than you had... good luck.
