Hi RIU! Just thought id post some pics of my first grow and get some opinions on how its going.
Using a a small grow box that's about 15 inches tall. It has a small intake computer fan and an exhaust computer fan.
I have a 42 Watt CFL located about 2.5/3 inches above the plants, will obviously get more as the grow progresses.
I'm using white paper as a reflector.
Unsure of what the soil is obtained it at a growing nursery near my house.. It is however mixed with perlite.
Popped seeds into ground exactly one week ago, weren't germed.

Thanks for reading! Any advice is welcome :D.

bump.. how much light am I going to need for the box? It's 15"x10"x10" and the plants seem to be responding great to the one 42 watt CFL so far.

i dunno about heat stress with cfls 2 in away..unless its just really hot inside/where you live?

In a small box like that I would say you could do fine with two 42W bulbs but if you can put three they sure will do better. With the light is kind of the more light the better ;)

you cant really tell in the picture but one of the leaves were simply curling upward a bit. probably just a bit of newbie paranoia however :P

would two 42 watt 6400k and 1 23 watt 2700k be beneficial?

6500 should be your main worry but many people suggest mixing as it's "more natural" but I've seen plenty of good grows that use exclusive 6500 veg and 2700 flower. More light is always beneficial though and both of those spectrums the plant will use so yes it would help.

wouldn't sweat it bro.. some phenos have all kinds of mis-shapen leaves. As long as they're green, healthly & growing your all good!

update with pics. down to one plant unfortunatley :(, light fell down killing one plant and burning one leaf of the plant next to it :'(. nevertheless one of them survives and seems to be growing fine aside from the burning.

I too think your curling is probably mainly benign. I doubt it's heat stress with CFLs..... I would say if anything maybe your hydration? What is your watering regimen like?

Also are you checking pH of your water at least?

Again, I think your curling at the moment isn't much to worry about.
