I tried to make a diagram of my room.

basically its 7.5'x6'x10'

I am wondering if the set up I am thinking about will be ok for ventilation.

I will be using some dryer tubes that I found at a shop to bring the air from the intake to the floor. Let me know what you guys think or if you have any suggestions. Also, my ballast is connected to the reflector. Thats how it came but the company assured me that they did rigorous testing on the ballast and the temps for my room will not be a problem.

I just made a quick diagram of the room so you can get a better idea of it.

be good if u had an intake on ground level so that thhe fan sucksx fresh air in past the plants before extracting it. Have u thought about odour controle?

The fan on the window will have a a dryer tube going to the floor. I haven't done that yet, but I will soon. I did set up the exhaust though but I am wondering is it ok to just run the exhaust until i can get the inline fan for the intake? Also, I bought some room fresheners for now and I bought something to soak up the smell. I didnt open the bag yet to see what was inside it. I am hoping its carbon or something similiar. I will set that up when it starts to smell.

I found some chain today when I was buying it I ran into my boss and she was like what do you need that for? I told her I needed it for my dog.

I just set up the HPS system today. It took me almost three hours to get everything set up. I had to manually drill some holes into the concrete wall which took forever. No access to drill but everything turned out just fine.

Here are two pics.

Pic one is the exhaust that i set up in the door. It looks pretty ghetto but, it will do the trick.
Pic two is the HPS which I have about 3 feet away from the plants for now. Im going to put them closer every day.

looks like some heavey dutey chain lol., u might wanna lower it till its about 40cm above the plants.Check to see if its not too hot, best way to check is put the back of ur hand at the plants level and if it feels uncomftably hot the raise the light a bit.

Days since ground-break:13
Number of plants:3
Lights: 2(65w) CFL, 400w HPS
Light Cycle:18/6
Temps:28C
Humidity : 50%

I have been having problems with my internet so I didnt post for a few days. I am having problems with plant #2 Seksu. The first set of true leaves are twisting and they have some yellow spots on them. I am thinking it was because I put her under the HPS too soon. After I noticed the spots I put her back under the CFL's. I am not giving any nutes so I have ruled out nute burns. The ph of the water is fine, so I am guessing that the HPS burned the leaves. Plant #2 was having problems from the start. The leaves were growing kind of strange. Bunched up and twisted looking so, I am thinking that its just a bad plant. Asobi (plant #1) is doing amazing. Lots of new growth since I put her under the 400w HPS. I am thinking it could have also been because i spritzed the plant with water and could have been burned from that.

Plant #3 has sprouted and is looking alright.

Ive been having problems with germinating seeds. I think the paper towel method hasnt been working because I am using tissue paper. I cant find paper towels here. So, I just tried soaking the seeds with water for 24 hours in a cup 1/3 filled with water. I then covered it so no light seeps in and let it sit. Almost all the seeds I tried this with cracked. One of those seeds was #3. I tried it with four seeds at first. One has sprouted, two have started to poke and one didnt make it.

I just started a new set of seeds. I germinated 8 of them with the soaking method. I planted them into moistened soil. Four of them I am trying the greenhouse method on and 4 I put in soil with no cover. Just experimenting to see what works best for me. Ill post again as soon as those ones sprout.

Pic 1 Asobi

Pic 2 Seksu ( bad quallity but i still think you can see the spots) Can anyone input on what they think the problem is?

Pic 3 is plant #3

yeah its not a good idea to mist ya plants wen the light is on. The water droplets act like a magnifing glass and burn ya leafs.

I watched a video and I thought it would be ok for sprouts lol. I now know that wasnt a good idea. I stopped misting as soon as I noticed the problem. Hopefully the plant makes it through.

Did u lower ur hps? Seksu will be fine shes jus growing roots
I actually built up the plant to the hps.
I can only take the hps light higher due to the length of the chain. Its about 40cm away now. Thanks for the advice with the hps.

Ive been checking out your grow a lot. I have to say your stuff looks really great man.

Looking forward to seeing this grow! Everything looks real good, but you'll def need exhaust when you install that HPS. Even a small window fan blowing out is good, but not so good with odor. You just have to rip a bong and get creative with your set up. Keep us posted!bongsmilie

Thanks zombie1334, I do have an exhaust but I am wondering how long I should keep it on each day? If you have any input on this, let me know.

Bad news... So I was checking to see why the new germinated seeds havent planted and I found some mold. It seems that the new soil I bought was bad... This really sucks because I mixed all my perlite in it and I cant get anymore perlite for a week or two. I checked the container that I keep the soil in and its growing mold... I am going to go get some new soil today. But, i transplanted one of my plants into this soil and the two newest sprouts are also in this soil.

My question is: If i retransplant the sprouts and Seksu into the new soil will it be ok? Im not sure what to do. I only have 5 seeds left so Im hoping if i transfer into the new soil it will be alright??

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

Please respond!!!

Im not going to be able to post pictures for a while. My phone broke so its getting fixed and it will take a week or so for it to get fixed. I was able to fix the mold problem. I took my bag of soil and its now sitting in the sun on my balcony for at least a week. My plants leaves were starting to curl under and I have figured that it was because of over watering. Besides that everything is going well. I wish I could post new pics. My plants are growing quite a bit.

mold is NASTY!
Man, that ventilation has to be good... air circulation, or mold comes up quickly. Second, you brought them outside.. i would never do that, you risk getting bugs.. and bugs can be worse than mold.
From your last post, you said you watered every 3 or 4 days, if that's the case, you are under watering. If you were over watering, the leaves would start turning yellow and start dieing faster... under watering, they usually just droop excessively.
subscribed to yours as well.
