First Time grow, in AG (Pics)

Hi all,

This is my first ever attempt to grow some bud. I'm currently in season for my sport so I'm not supposed to be smoking (I love being high too much), so I figured I would give it a shot and grow for my own personal consumption. I bought my AG on ebay for about $115.00. I'm using tap water that I set out for 24 hours to get rid of the chlorine. I'm using the standard AG nutes that come with it and I put one tablet in the reservior a week. I'm using seeds I purchased from marijuana-seeds.nl. The two strains im growing are Aurora Indica and Mazar X Afghan. I currently have 6 plants in the AG (hoping for 3-4 females).I have 6 - 100w cfl's as well as the 2 standard lights that come with the AG.

I just had a questions as to showing sex on the plants. I'm currently in my 4th day of flowering and I was just wondering how long it takes for the plants to start showing its sex? I feel like I should start to see pre-flowers already.

Sex should show fairly soon, be patient, waiting is the worst part of any grow. It looks like these aerogardens are really taking off; I don't know enough about them, so maybe you could tell me, what happens as the plant gets taller? How high can you adjust the light?
It looks like you have a lil nute burn on the lower branches, is that clearned up now? And the crinkled leaf tips - that could be heat stress.
I'm really impressed, overall your plant look good though.

The adjustable light goes about 22 inches I think. If my plants get taller then that I plan on just taking off the hood. The lights in the hood are not that powerful anyways so I figured it wouldnt hurt if I have to remove them.

I did have nute burn, but my plants are recovered and they really took off. I did not know not to give young plants nute, guess I learned my lesson. As far as the heat stress, I am unsure. It does get warm in the closet when the door is closed, but I usually leave it open so the fan is constantly bringing in cooler air.

So far though, the aerogarden has been a great learning tool. I've learned a lot just from my experience with the it as well as spending too much time reading these forums (my gf gets angry).

lol about the GF getting angry. Those plants look real good! In my opinion you are going to get real crowded in that AG with 3-4 plants. My 1 plant would drink all the water in my AG in a 24 hour period when it was flowering. Looks like you have some horizontal space to LST them to help spread them out once you sex them. Good luck! I always like to see how an AG grow turns out.

Yeah, the 6 plants drink a lot of water already. I top the reservior off about once a day, maybe twice. Oh well! Means they're growing!

is it good to leave the fan blowing directly that close with a box fan like that? cause if so im il be on that, but i wasnt too sure if its straight or not.

As far as I know it doesnt hurt it, but I'm no expert. Having a fan blow on your plants is supposed to help beef up the stems. It also keeps all my lights cool and keeps the temp down.
