So this is my FIRST ever grow and I'd really like some help.
I built my box using 2x4 treated pine. reflective insulation.
And some 12mil plywood I am yet to decide on my lights I know I'm going with hps but I'm not sure what size! My box is only 3.6ftx3.6ft by 6ft high, I've grown a few outdoor plants but never any under lights and have been hearing everywhere that scrog is my best option but ander what lights?
Ps it will be soil grow.

Id go with a 400w hps for your size box. Going to need good ventilation tho. I have a 400w hps in a 3x3x6 tent with a 200 cfm duct fan with a carbon filter attached an my temps stay around 75-80F.

Hot weather become a big concern for me so I have my lights come on at 10pm-10am. Works great. Was coming on at 12p-12a and temps got into mid 90's.

Yea I would definitely go with a lower sized hps in a small space like that. I think even a 600w might be hard to keep cool. In a small area, scrog is a good way to increase your yield.

Thanks mate sounds good what do you reckon about adding additional cfls? Also what strains do you grow with and what's your average amount pulled?(dry)

Defiantly agree with u on the scrog. Best way to get the most out of your plants. Hortilux super hps is an amazing bulb I must say. Id defiantly go with one of those when u do choose your light. Lil on the pricey side but well worth it. There mh bulb is really nice too.

I am going to be using the one hps lamp through all stages, and if you believe that's the lamp for me then that's the lamp for me. Just curious as to what you harvest of a 400w hps scrog? Thanks again!

If ur going with a hps only I would put some 26w 6500k cfl's in during veg to help with the stretch. Or even try to get a ballast that runs both mh/hps. Those plants with stretch like crazy with only a hps. My last harvest wasn't so great. Didn't let them veg long enough only ended up with 2oz. This time I'm looking for at least double that if not more.

If u only have 6ft to work with ? I would use scrog! and 600watt hps for the 3.6 x 3.6. just my opinion though! U ever thought about a quality LED?

400w is good choice for that space, with a good fan and properly sealed should be easy to vent and keep cool..

Although that 315w CE light looks pretty damn good...Someone with more experience can chime in or maybe search the LED/other thread....people who can't afford LED's from the get go have been crowing about the 315w as a replacement for a 600w HPS, some might say....

Full cycle is fine...maybe dip the toe into LED with some 4k supplemental in veg....:peace:

600w hps in a cooltube with its own fan, 1000w dual arc bulb in cooltube. Or ceramic discharge lighting, best quality by far, just don't try and cooltube it cos you will filter out the uv-b. Most cost effective choice would be 600w hps in cooltube.

My new veg tent. Grolab80l and my old t8 and 12s still going strong. New LEDs coming soon. Still deciding. Thinking about moving the 2 rw150s over and adding something new in the flower room. Also trying the black ops filters. Seem to be just as good as the phresh for a fraction. 5 tangies and 4 purple og18s 6500k

High quality units pay for themselves very quickly , but u have to know what your doing. Cant risk failure when u pay 2 grand to light a 4x4
