First time bubbleponics grow - 250w CFL

Im just using 1 250 Watt CFL.

Because I dont have much room for the plants to grow ive had them on 12/12 since I started to fan leaves.

Looks like flowering has started but the some leaves are looking bad, starting to turn yellow.

Any advise?

Here is some pics.

same happened to mine khalifa but i ordered beans from midweeksong they got to me in the states in 6 days already have buzz light gear sprouted and atomic bomb just germinated after 5 days in paper towel finaly and i planted it not sure if its gonna sprout tho doesnt look the healthiest i guess we will see ... i chopped my hermies down with no mercy !

ive been growing these plants for 3 months now, just a few days over 3 months. Im hanging on to them as ive read that you can get half decent smoke from a hermie.

Apparently if you chop the balls off it, its less likely to put as much effort into making the seeds.

What do you guys think? just a bit reluctant to chop them now as ive had the so long, they did take ages to go into flowering and I had switched them to 12/12 after it got the first few leaves.

Why not use feminized seeds? I would hate to devote that much time growing and then have them turn hermie. I've noticed prices are starting to come down on a lot of strains because in the U.S. more and more states are starting to legalize it and there's going to be a lot more competition between seedbanks.

Feminized seeds will hermie easier and more often under stress compared to regular seeds. =)

Ive had one feminized seed turn hermie on me. the package i get my seeds in say 99.9 percent chance of female. I think that percentage is a little high. but my room is pretty dialed in. I only use regular seeds unless im trying some type of breeding project. I save myself a lot of money on base soil and/or nutrients. Why vedge a male for eight weeks just to flip the lights and see balls:wall:....that sucks.

Because you don't grow like that. You don't check for pre-sex signs? or do a 3-day darkness or 3-days of 12-12 to get the gender to show?

big problems now.... so far has been easy but now shit just got real.

So I noticed a few of the bottom leaves really sagging, realised that there was no water in the bucket.:wall:

Instantly, filled up the bucket and a few hours later the leaves start to look a bit better, but look what its like now.

Any tips would be great. Maybe time will fix it.

How long has it been since you filled the bucket?

If you just filled the bucket within 24 hours I wouldn't expect them to look healthy for a couple days, they look pretty sad from being thirsty. BTW if you're using CFL's you have them too far away from the plant, unless you lifted them for the pic, but if you didn't lift them we should be seeing them in the pictures. Keep your CFL's 2 inches from the plant(if you have to a max of 5 inches, once mine is that old/big I kinda drop it down in between a gap, nice n close.

I dont do three days of darkness before i switch to 12/12. I have in the past. When my female plants come out of veg room they go right into flower room. As for pre-sex signs i dont do that either like i said i mainly use female seeds.

If there strong they will pull through, I would be careful about laxing on the water though :) My first run with aeroponics I killed from misreading the timer setting and they only went 6 hours or so with out water. All but one was KIA

I use mainly fem seeds and still go 3 days total darkness to kick off the bloom cycle. They respond really well to it.

I used to do that in the past but i really didn't notice much of a difference as far as inducing flowering. I don't know if it was the genetics or what. But i just don't do it anymore. Might try it again this time around..

Plants are starting to look a bit better, they went nearly two weeks without a water change. Normally that would have been ok but decided to put less water in it the last time I added water, I think I read somewhere that it was good during flowering.

Here how they look now.

By looking at your pictures, the pistils appear very white still, i'd say you still have a little while to go. But if you are going to chop em' to avoid further plant issues I could see your reasoning behind that decision. Overall, i'd say you still have a little while to go.

I agree with the above post, you have a good bit to go, your yeild will increase a ton if you continue going. I would also suggest changing the water every week rather than biweekly just to help keep it healthy, obviously you have been having issues so the more good you could do the better.

For future grows you will also be better using multiple smaller CFL bulbs rather than one big, I use multiple 150w equivalents. With CFL's you should be able to get at least 3oz's in about 3 months when using an 8 week flowering strain with 1 month veg per plant, yours looks far off that number if you were to chop now.
