First Time Bubble Run

Several months back one of my buddies stopped by with some excellent full melt bubble hash that he'd made. As he showed me his personal jar of bubble, he explained that it was from a recent run and had just been placed in the jar over the past few days. I was impressed with not only the look, but the smell. He topped a packed bowl off, and sure enough, it tasted just as it smelled - amazing!

We discussed BHO and other extracts / concentrates. I was already quite familiar with BHO due to it's increasing popularity. I had some other friends that made it and several more who had asked me about it. I had never made it personally, but from research and media I was well aware of the dangers it involved. That was the main reason I stayed away from it, combined with the criminal side of things. I'm not really looking to break any laws or add any court dates to my schedule.

Over our discussion, we agreed that bubble was the cleanest of the group. I had some trim saved up from various strains, mixed together, so I figured I'd test my hand on a run of bubble hash. I browsed the internet, found a reasonable set of bags, and placed an order. Over the next week I waited for my bags to arrive in the mail, watching videos online and researching how to make top notch bubble hash or ice wax. I got some great info from Matt Rize and Bubbleman, some of the info was actually from the RIU forums. Other then that, I bugged a buddy via text to see what his opinions were on several different factors of the process.

After reading up on the process and overloading myself on YouTube videos, my bags arrived. I was already ahead of things. My water was already cooled in the freezer / fridge. I had a few bags of ice that I had picked up from the store in the freezer chillin'. My three - five gallon buckets were ready to be put to use. I had a utensil to microplane the hash when it was in the drying phase. I had parchment paper and a cool area to let it dry when it got to that point. I was ready to get things started.

I reviewed the process and gave it a go. I did two runs of sugar leaf trim. I washed each run two separate times. In my opinion, it turned out pretty nice. The hash is quality and it's still going to benefit from going into the jar to cure. I did expect more hash from the amount of trim I used, but I was after quality, not quantity... although I wouldn't complain about having a stockpile of this stuff on hand. Here are some pictures of the process. Apologies for the low quality, they're from my phone. Feel free to hit me with feedback!
