First Test...FAILED! (temp control please help)

I have a 36x20x62 tent and 400W HPS. I tested the temps before I germed and it's over 90! Room temps are 80 but that's running the central ac at around 78 (I can lower it).

The problem is, I have a small apartment, the tent is in the same room I sleep. I can't make holes and I don't have a window/attic to vent out the hot air.

I will get a cool tube, about how many degrees will this drop the temps?

I was thinking about getting a centrifugal exhaust fan, sit it on top of the tent and just vent into the room, would this bring down the temps at all or is it a waste of money since I'm venting in the same room?

Any ideas/suggestions?

I am flowering in a dr100 it's about 3.25 x 3.25 x 6.25 I am running a 400watt HPS. Before I bought a super sun 2 air cooled hood (see my avatar) my temps were between 85 - 87 degrees. The hood installed dropped my temp about 4 - 5 degrees. I still wanted my temps out of the 80's so i purchased a portable a\c unit and now have temps between 71 and 75 degrees. My tent is in a walk in closet that is connected to my bathroom...I basically run my vents over the closet door blowing into the bathroom. My Roomate has his smaller tent in a small closet and just leave his closet door open with the vent running just outside the door.

I was thinking of getting an air cooled hood instead of a cool tube but was afraid it wouldn't fit in the tent. My ports are on the left side of my tent which is weird, so I'm trying to figure out the best way to set it up. I'm going to get the room temp to 70 and run the light to see if that bring it down at all. What kind of exhaust are you running?

I have a 190 cfm fan extracting heat from my tent and a 160 cfm fan extracting heat from the hood. I also have a portable a\c blowing cool air in.

you can cut a small hole in the ceiling in your closet there is a small space between apts and vent your heat but be careful because when u start to flower if its not a closed circuit ventilation system its gonna smell up the whole top floor, just keep the small piece you cut out so u can replace it when u move

Am I to understand you don't have an exhaust fan? If so, then you've been mislead on the equipment necessary for growing in a tent.

The cool tube or AC hood is only going to slow the heat, but it's still going to get too hot. You need ducting and a ventilation fan. I also find intake fans to be very important as well in small spaces. Get yourself a hood, a 4 inch duct boost fan for intake, a 150cfm to 180cfm 4 inch fan and some 4 inch ducting for exhaust. This will keep your tent around 4-5 degrees over the room (intake) temperature. Ideally you're going to get your temps under 80 degrees so you're going to have to crank the AC down to 75 at the highest.

Tent ventilation is not to be overlooked. I used a 400w uncovered bulb in a 10x12 bedroom without ventilation and never had heat issues. I dropped the same system in a 2x4 tent with a 180cfm fan and still I need to run the AC unit to keep the intake temperature low. Don't be fooled into thinking air is any less important than light.

I know I need ventilation, I just didn't want to go spending money and not get what I need. The AC hood has air vents on both sides, right? The vents on my tent are both on the left, one in the back and one on the top.. How would I run an inline system with this setup?

I'm going to get a 4 in 180cfm centrifugal fan but I can't vent out the room so if I get the intake, wouldn't it just be pulling the hot air back in? This was my concern.

How loud are the exhaust fans? Any model recommended for low noise?
