First shroom hunt soon (Questions)

So here what's up:
I live ridiculously close to a lot of caddle. I often ride my bike by it and see cow pies everywhere.. everywhere.
A lot of white ones too? This seems to be what they look like most of the time.. Are they just old or is that healthy shroom hunting territory? (not all are white, but I know animal waste turns white over time)

It started sprinkling today! Finally! First signs of rain = shrooming time!

Do I need a little rain? showers? Just flip the pies over and look.. I know what to look for, how to test, etc. but am a little fuzzy since it'll be the first time hunting.

Thanks in advance :D I'll leave some spores behind to grow more.. but how? Do I just tap the caps over the pies and put the pies back over the spores?

 :joint:

I'm really excited

you just need a bit of rain. The shrooms grow out of the patties, no need to flip them over. The shrooms I used to pick had golden tops, if you rub your finger underneath the gills they will be dark purple, they will also have a purple skirt once the cap has popped open. cut the shroom at the base of the stem, there will still be mycellium in the shit and the mushrooms will pop up again. The first time I went There were 3 types of ushrooms out there each of them easily distinguished from the next. The first time I went picking I got my harvest checked out by an experienced picker and I recomend you do the same, good luck!

Alright. Basically I go to a field and get 5 gallon buckets full. hehe. Anyways. The best time to go is around 6 in the morning, but you dont have to. But after it has a heavy rain go on a dry, sunny day so the mushrooms arent super soggy and you can identify them properly.

If your looking for a lot of shrooms your gonna need it to heavily rain 24-72 hours before you harvest. Also if you go each day after it rains new shrooms pop up each day.

But yeah, the best way to identify the suckers is they have a golden top and the most important way is when you squeeze the stem it will bruize blue/green/purple about a minute after. And yes they have a purple veil (skirt) around the top of the stem but can sometimes be really hard to tell if it has it or not.

Basically just squeeze and wait till it turns blue.

I'm not gonna lie. this is my favorite req. drug ever!! its umbelievably awesome.

Oh yeah, depending on what field you go to will depend on whether there are good ones or not. Luckily the field I go to has a mushroom every 5-10 feet =)

Oh and the more dense the cows, the more dense the shrooms.

I love you for the advice lol thanks. Yeah.. so far no rain. I can definitely count on showers followed by sunny days though seeing as the weather patterns are so weird in california these days.

the best mushies i ever had were from a field that used to be a landfill, man those shrooms were toxic!

First rain was last night! It started as a sprinkle that lasted from about 3 until the night.. It never poured but since it was raining softly on and off the whole day the ground was covered by water of course.

Today is somewhat sunny. Its a promising morning. Chilly air with the sun definitely lighting up the world around me.. Probably ~70 Degrees.

I'm not sure how long it takes shrooms to react to the rain and sun. If I were to go hunting today would I find anything mature enough to harvest or should I wait another day or two?

Thanks :) I'm very excited!
