Starting this journal super late but whatever. So here it is.

2x4x5ft tent
600w hps cool tube.
ScrOG
General Organics
Fox Farms Ocean Forrest
1xblackberry
3xstrawberry diesel

Temps: 84f lights on, 77f lights off. 30-40%RH

the pic with the 1st plant on the left with the actual buds forming is the blackberry. it started out as the runt of the bunch but now is dominating with super tight nodes and already has purple on some of the buds. starting to produce crystals.

the strawberry diesel's are really far behind except for 1 of them which is next to the blackberry. They smell great already but im worried about the strawberry not turning as quickly.

Any feedback would be appreciated. I want to continue doing soil, but possibly switch to coco for better growth. (seems to work better than soil from what I've seen on here) I don't know how to use coco at all. Id like to keep using organic fertilizers but if its not gonna really produce anything then I might switch to some chemical fertilizers. Again any help with this would be greatly appreciated! If there is anything you would like to know ask away!

ps. sorry about the pictures they are from my camera phone. 3mps.:eyesmoke:

Hey man, looking very very nice. Where did you get your blackberry? I got some buds from a friend and they were some of my favorites I was thinking about ordering some seeds. How old are your girls? I recommended International House Of Guano Kit as a organic feed. Are you using a air conditioner to maintain 84 degrees running 600 w?

oops forgot to mention these were all clones that i got from a buddy and he drove them like 8 hours to get here under a black garbage bag. They are all 16 days old now. The room is in the attic. I have the lights on at night because it gets too hot during the day. right now i have to have my cool tube cooled by the cooler air from the floor below. i could get the temps lower when the lights are on but during the day ive gone upstairs and looked at the temps outside the tent and its 99 degrees and inside the tent its 77 degrees. So Im just trying to keep the temps somewhat close. I dont know what happens when its hotter with lights off than with lights on.

To be honest the girls grow so much better when its in the 80s. I dont let it go higher than 86 though. When i started these in feb, they didn't grow very well when the temps were 65-75f. I do have to water a lot more due to the high heat. Thing I'm wondering about is will it be too hot in there and melt the crystals away. When watching my old man for years do this i noticed the buds under the 1000watt were the biggest but not the most crystal count.

I have a 4x4 tent, and a 600w hps when I first set it up and put it on 600 it was running in the 90s so I bought a portable ac and now have a duct zip tied to the ac and right into the light and then a inline fan pulling air out of the light and now my tent is staying in the 80s. They didnt seem to mind the 90s when it was there but I didnt want to take the chance.

I was thinking of doing the same. Right now I have the inline sucking air from the downstairs and through the light into the tent for right now cause im not having that bad of a smell issue at the moment (i do have a carbon filter waiting to be attached) but it also serves as a cold air intake cause i need to cool it during the day when it reaches 100+ in the attic. If i get a portable a/c I think I'm just going to use it as a cold air intake over the light and into the tent and then have a separate inline fan sucking air through the carbon filter out of the tent and out of the room.

What portable a/c do you have and how much did you pay for it?

I am looking into buying a carbon filter for my exhaust as well as another inline fan for the exhause. I am starting to smell heavily in the bedroom with the tent in it. I am also going to run another duct zip tied to the front of the ac unit as an intake in the bottom of the tent to get some even cooler temps in the room. I would like to be 80-84 with the lights on. Right now im still about 85-89. I bought a LG 8000BTU from Home Depot for 300$.

Couldn't you just take the a'c unit and have it pump cold air into the room through the light and then run your current inline fan through the carbon filter and out of your tent? That is actually what I am going to do that way i wouldn't have to buy another inline fan. Though a small cfm fan would probably do the trick if i needed a boost through the cool tube.

Yeah thats pretty much what I do except its all inline so its not really getting alot of cool air into my tent but keeping hot air from escaping the light.

Here is the AC unit running into the tent, then it goes right into the light. The fan is pulling the hot and cool air from in the light and out of the tent.

have you put your hand in front of the exhaust coming out of the hood? I have a cool tube so its a little different than yours but the air coming out of my cool tube is about 70 degrees which is enough to keep my tent cool enough. I do have a smaller tent than you so that could play a large role in the whole cooling of my tent. I understand that the whole point of these air cooled hoods and tubes is to exhaust the heat straight out of the tent unlike what I'm doing but in my case it also serves as a cool air intake. I figure that you have much cooler air coming through that ac unit than my room temp air from down below and it could be put to better use. What cfm is your fan? Mine is 260cfm and works great. my tent is only 40cu.ft. you have to account for the duct work as well and every bend and turn makes it less efficient. I ask cause maybe its not pulling the air out of the hood fast enough. Could your ac's fan push cold air into the tent while your inline just pulls air from a cooler room or the same room if its not too hot and then exhaust out? Sorry I'm babbling now.

Ill post more pics in a few days of the girls.

here are some pics from week 4. still not stretching guess i have enough light and the temps dont vary much. i was gone for a week and had a friend watch over these. she did a good job and the blackberry is really getting sticky and thick. Not to mention the sweet berry smell coming from it and its purple color is coming out all over the place.

Also the strawberry diesel next to it is doing great! Getting covered in resin. The last two just aren't doing much they finally are covered in buds but I will definitely be harvesting these a few weeks later than the rest. You can see the roots sticking out of the bottom of my 3 gal pot.

Are my plants on track for being 4 weeks into flower? Some feedback would be nice. 119 views and only one other person replied. Give me some love.

Looking great man.. still want to know where you got that blackberry from? I am def. interested in trying that. Cant wait to see it finishing up. Keep up the great work. BTW I bought a really good fan for my exhaust and a carbon filter and no longer really need my AC Unit. The exhaust sucks out so strong the sides of my tent kind of get pulled in. I just have a little inline fan blowing cool air in from my room and its been perfect temps.

good to hear that you got that figured out. That is what I am currently doing as well and my temps dont get higher than 86 on a really hot day.

Like i said earlier i got that blackberry as a clone from my buddy. Dont know where he got it. But i trust his knowledge of genetics. I cant figure out why the two plants on the right are so far behind. They were looking like my best plants and they are weeks behind. Only one of the strawberry diesel has crystals and its getting covered in them. The blackberry and the good strawberry are getting the best air flow so maybe thats it but I honestly have no idea. I water them all with the same ph water and nutes.

This is my first grow...After all the research I have done it's been said you can achieve a bigger yield by doing this....only way to know is to try both!

The SD might just have sativa genes and may take 10-12 weeks instead of 8-9 would be my guess...
I guess i'll get to smoke on that blackberry first! Nice and fruity for the end of summer.

Here is an update, week 5.

Blackberry is getting super dense and oily and really fragrant. Its like a raspberry pine smell. I feel like these are just gonna produce rock hard nugs a little larger than a film canister after its dried and cured.

The Strawberry Diesel isn't really moving very fast. It definitely has sativa genetics in it but my buddy said it was from a more indica looking phenotype mother. I guess that is why its not stretching. In the last week I can hardly see a difference in growth. Is there any organic fertilizers that i should look into that could help boost these buds? I feel like my old man's stuff smelled stronger at this point and he just used Fox Farm products, like tiger bloom, cha ching, and big bloom. Should I try one of these? Here is the SD.

anyone know what could be causing my leaves on the sour diesel to be curling? Also my blackberry is always kinda droopy anyone know what that could be as well? I'm guess pH has something to do with it. I test my nute water and its really low like 5.6 fine for hydro but I'm doing soil.(haven't calibrated it in awhile) Should i also have a soil pH meter?

harvested the blackberry early because my hps exploded. and i was out of money so i couldn't replace the bulb soon enough. I then replaced it and there were male flowers showing up so i figured it was 60 days in when i cut it down. i let it sit in the dark for 2 days but it really didn't do anything. in fact after i harvested i swear i lost a lot trichs. it tastes like fake grape/concord grape. its so super purple its almost black. it burns down to a fine white ash but doesn't have that great of a flavor. if i smoke this when i wake up im going back to sleep for a few hours. seriously 1 bowl and im back in bed. my friends like it a lot more than i do so maybe im just over critical. i have some pics of the harvest but not at the moment. i will probably never post again because this site fuckin sucks and is almost impossible to get a response back from someone but for the education, ill finish this last thread.

the strawberry diesel looks amazing. i should harvest that here in a week or so. the other two strawberry diesel as seen in the pics really haven't done much. i think it just gets too hot up there and the roots died and now my pot is full of dead roots and no room for new ones. anyways they are slowly and i mean fuckin slowly getting thicker. ill post pics in a day.
