First (real) Grow!

In the last year: I've had plants and lights confiscated by the cops, gone to court for felony cultivation, robbed twice, had 3 ballasts explode, money problems, had shitty genetics in all previous attempts to grow, kicked out of 2 houses over pot plants..... AND FINALLY have everything stable and my first real grow going. I have a cycle going, and documenting a grow journal (https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/201918-first-posting-my-grow-t5.html). However I thought I should post this in the newbie forum since it's really my first shot at an un-interrupted grow. Comments / suggestions / anything?

• Air cooled 600 watt HPS for indoor flowering
  
• 48 watt T5 2-footer for cloning
• outdoor mini-green house for vegging.

My 3 plants that will be done flowering in about 2-4 weeks, more are on the way:

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I too hope that everything is stable. I believe so because I live in a new house with an amazing landlord, awesome roommates, the local sergeant has been to my house and said that I had the most legitimate medical marijuana papers he's ever seen, haven't seen any cops or strange activity around my house in at least 3 months, live in a better and safe neighborhood so I shouldn't have any robberies... and yeah, enough about me lol. I should be fine. It's the actual growing that'll give me any issues.

what issues are you having? your op looks pretty good to me man. how hard was it to get papers to grow? im seriously thinking about moving to cali once my life straightens up some for no better reason to legally grow my own weed. you have no idea (well actually you probably do) how stressful it is to worry about your plants safety and who might figure it out constantly

The issues I've been having...

• are nute related sometimes. I've found myself switching from Fox Farm to the Technaflora brand if a strain reacts poorly to the nutes.
• I killed a whole batch of clones from not watering the rockwool cubes like a real newbie.
• I also killed a few more clones by spraying the ThriveAlive red solution on the clones instead of the green one. I choose to not spray anything but water now.
• I had a $22 Super Lemon Haze feminized seed die on me right away, never sprouted right, from "dampening off"... a disease to the stem.
• I also had a vicious snail attack this past weekend in my outdoor green house.
• Also my feminized Church seed went hermie recently in the flowering stage.

I know what you mean. Although it's not completely safe out here in Cali, the feds can always get you, which is a legitimate threat when you live near a military base/community (but thankfully not in one). It's fairly easy to get your medical papers. If you have anything documented with your regular doctor, and I mean pretty much anything, then you can be perscribed weed for the same thing. Just bring a copy of the medical papers from your regular doctor. I have my papers for a shoulder I tore and a broken leg that takes a while to fully heal. I also got my regular doctor to put in writing that marijuana helps my bad stomach acid, so I'm set. I recommend MediCann for a choice of doctor.

i guess these are all just bad luck and misfortune but not as bad as your other problems you had last year. honestly i dont really mess around when it comes to chemical nutes and pesticides. during veg i like to use some molasses when i water and i might use 1/4 strength flowering nutes but i always like to keep it simple and natural when it comes to a plant i plan on smoking

ya i think the most legit reason for seaking a medi card is an eating/digestive dissorder. if i cant come up with anything better im gonna say i have an eating disorder where i never really get hungry or want to eat unless im baked. also i have a fast metabolism and can never eat enough food to actually gain weight

on a side note; how much do dispensaries charge for bud out there for dank and are regs available?

Lol for sure. I wouldn't stress to hard over getting a medical perscription. I've heard of people going in there saying they're an alcoholic and weed is the only thing that makes them not want to drink as much... with no doctor proof... and getting their card. You have to pay around $135 just to be evaluated by the doctor, meaning the doctor can say no and keep your money... so usually the doctors are pretty flexible if they know you're chill with weed.

Dispensaries fluctuate in California. For example, in Oakland there are only about 4 clubs and they're very prestigious and top-of-the-line... the one I went to most recently conducts lab tests on all of the bud and tells you the percentage of thc and cbd's and what else is in the weed. On the flip side, in Los Angeles there are about 350+ dispensaries and they range from selling ghetto low-grade shake, to having every strain you can think of for $20 grams, to average clubs that have $5/gram shake... i've gotten that price of OG Ultra Kush shake that was really good. Then in Santa Cruz there's only 2 clubs, the street bud is just as dank and cheaper, and the cheapest ounce at the dispensary is $250 and sells out right away... most good 8ths are $60, and the only good thing in the Santa Cruz dispensaries tends to be edibles.

SO, it depends where in Cali you live and what you like.

Lol, well thank you for that. I plan on moving my diesel ryder back outside starting tomorrow. I can't decide which is better for an automatic strain - 12 hours under a 600 watt HPS, or the summer sunshine (that's mostly foggy and overcast in my part of California). I know 12 hours is bad for autos but the 600w HPS is my only working grow light besides a T5. I came to my senses and figured if you can still get sunburned on a cloudy day, then so can my plants... and the diesel ryder will get more light outside. Anyone else run into an issue like this?

lol its all good..everyone makes mistakes but you learn from them thats the most important part and others will learn as well..i switch nutes all the time..ive got a shit load of differnt nutes..but i just like to change it up a bit so the plants dont get used and bored of the same old thing..you know there my real friends lol jk...but it looks good for real

I know what you mean about switching nutes. Have you found that some plants from the same strain like different nutes than others? For example, I have 4 Sour D plants vegging, and one of them had a really bad reaction with its PH. I switched from Fox Farm to Technaflora and the bad PH symptoms went away for that plant.

I'm getting excited to finally come full circle with my perpetual grow. I've gone from so many shitty grow set ups, to finally something that works and it's a good feeling. I thought it might be appropriate to update this thread, as I did to my grow journal. Copied from my journal:

Wanted to update my journal for July 10th, 2009:

Plants are coming along great. I had some Grape Punch clones take off insanely fast with a lot of roots, so those are my new prospects to be hopeful for. The flowering room is looking great. My Chemdawg is INSANE! I wasn't able to pull off any good pictures of it, but soon I'll post some. The strain came from these people in Los Angeles that have the original OG Kush, so the Chemdawg is that crossed with a really bomb Sour D. I think it's the best strain I have now. That will be done by the middle of August. I'll also have Burkle, White Widow, Church, Auto White Moscow, and possibly some Sour D being harvested around the middle of August as well. In 2-3 weeks I will harvest my Easy Ryder (Automatic AK47 x Lowryder #2), White Widow, and this amazing bagseed plant. Towards the beginning to middle of September I'll be harvesting some Sour D, Great White Shark, Grape Punch, and Grape Fruit Diesel. And towards the beginning of October I will repeat harvesting what I'm about to harvest in 2 weeks... White Widow and this insane bag seed! Things should be more exciting starting in the next 2-3 weeks.

I'll take some pics of the Easy Ryder once it gets closer to harvest. It's 70th day (harvest day) is technically today but it does not look ready at all... I'm disappointed. I'm flushing it good and hopeing for it to bulk out more.
