I'm new to Roll It Up. Long time observer, first time poster. I'm new to growing, but have had a few test runs already. I'm lucky to be a medical marijuana patient in California, so I have a lot of helpful resources available to me.

I built a grow box from wood that is 4 feet by 8 feet, and 6.5 feet tall. The box is split in half, to create two 4'x4' light sealed rooms that are 6.5 feet tall. On the left is the flowering room, and the right is the veg room. Since summertime is here, I am veg'ing my plants outdoors in a mini-green house, while taking care of clones and young seedlings under a T5 indoors. So far it seems effective and a great alternative to wasting electricity. I'm treating the plants with a coco wetting agent and Einstein's neem oil to defend any bugs and diseases (has been working well so far). For nutes I have Grow Big, Thrive Alive, Super Thrive, and Hydrozyme. I'm using FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil. Though I'm researching and hoping to make the switch to hydro by the end of summer.

I have a 48 Watt T5 Florescent for clones and seedlings. The rest of the veg room is being used for storage, until I veg more and summer passes.

The flowering room has a 600 Watt HPS through a cool tube. Just to note, I have gone through 2 Lumatek Ballasts like nothing and currently am using a Sun System magnetic that has given me NO problems. Lumatek sent me back a brand new ballast that DIDNT work!

Under the T5 I have Automatic White Moscow (White Russian and original Lowryder), Great White Shark, and Super Lemon Haze. The Super Lemon Haze sprouted very poorly and looks near death, I'm hoping for a recovery.

In the flowering room I have White Widow and an unkown Purples strain. I wasn't able to flower these plants any earlier due to unforseen obstacles, and these plants managed to veg for 2 months outdoors. The White Widow started naturally flowering and became so top heavy that I had to tie it down as soon as it went indoors under the 600watt HPS. The purples strain veg'd for 2 months outdoors as well. Hopeing for my first "big" gram/plant ratio from those 2 plants :-P:-P:-P.

Outdoors veg'ing I have The Church, White Widow, Chemdawg (original cutting), Burkle, Grape Punch, and Grapefruit Diesel.

I have one Easy Ryder (Automatic AK47 x Lowryder #2... as seen in High Times March 2009) plant that I put in the green house during the day and in with the 600 Watt HPS at night. It flowers automatically with 20-24 hours of light starting at 14 days old! I picked up the Automatic White Moscow to try that auto strain out as well.

In regards to the flowering room, the 600 Watt HPS is cooled pretty strangely. It intakes cool air through the roof, blows through the cool tube, and then exhausts into the adjacent room with the T5. That was not what I planned on doing, and the construction of this grow box had to be halted. So I'm mkaing do with what I have. Then I have a 125 Watt Vortex fan that intakes cool air and blows it through ducting that wraps around the bottom of the floor (and the ducting has holes poked in it).

I have a 400 Watt Metal Halide standing by to veg. However I plan to upgrade to a 120 Watt high intensity LED for indoor veg'ing. I also plan to add more T5's for seedlings and clones. :weed:

Check out my picture album. Would love to have any feedback, comments, suggestions, buddies, anything.

Here are a few more pics:

The first pic is of the White Widow. It was cloned from a medical dispensary clone... from Oaksterdam in Oakland.

The 2nd pic is of the 3 plants I'm flowering. The smaller plant is Easy Ryder (AK47 x Lowryder #2), and that plant spends the day in the greenhouse and at night in the 600W HPS indoor flowering room. Thus giving it about 22-24 hours of light which it will love to flower on... being an automatic strain.

The 3rd pic is a better view of the flowering room with the 3 plants. Like I was saying, during the day there are only 2 plants in there... sleeping until 7PM.

And the 4th, and last, pic is of the 3 new feminized seeds I sprouted and have going. I ordered them off the internet from The Single Seed Centre. From left to right it is Automatic White Moscow, Great White Shark, and Super Lemon Haze.

The Super Lemon Haze sprouted very poorly. The coty leaves never sprouted upwards, and practically curling itself downwards. My assumption is that the sprout came from a bigger hole in the rockwool, allowing light to seep in and hit the newly sprouted seed... causing it to shrivel up. I can take a better picture later if anyone cares.

I watered the seedlings this morning lightly, hopeing for the super lemon haze to bounce back and to see some growth. So, other than the Super Lemon Haze... everything is going according to plan.

This isn't the most organized, best, grow... however the system I have down is working for a continuous grow. Sort of like a very weak Sea of Green. Let me know what you guys think. Any advice would be great too. Thanks for checking it out! bongsmilie

Gave the plants Grow Big, Hydrozyme, Super Thrive, and Thrive Alive... as well as a foliar dose of Einstein's neem oil (with CoCo Wetting Agent).

The sunny days of summer are treating the babies nice:

I NEED HELP / ADVICE WITH MY SUPER LEMON HAZE SEED. It sprouted terribly and the coty leaves never faced up. I've had it under the T5 for 24 hours and it's showing signs of getting better, but I'm not sure if there's any light at the end of the tunnel for it. See the pics below. (I paid about $20 for a feminized seed, so it'd be awesome if it could come back to life). Any suggestions/comments/advice?

Thanks for checking my grow out! :bigjoint:

It's been three weeks since I've updated this journal. To pick up where I've left off, the Super Lemon Haze seed died from "dampening off", which seems to be a disease that eats away at the stem. I also found that I under-watered my first batch of clones and seedlings. Luckily the Great White Shark and Auto White Moscow seeds, as mentioned in the earlier posts, will be going into flowering within the next week.

Currently in flowering I have White Widow, unknown Purples strain, Chemdawg D (looking really good and branching out), Burkle, The Church, another White Widow, Grape Punch, Grape Fruit Diesel, and an Easy Ryder (Automatic - AK 47 x Lowryder #2).

Flowering Nutes I use:

  • Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom (Fox Farm)
  • Grow Big (Fox Farm) for 1 feeding during the middle of the flowering cycle for a boost
  • SugarDaddy (Technaflora)
  • Awesome Blossoms (Technaflora)
  • MagiCal (Technaflora)
  • ThriveAlive - Green (Technaflora)
  • Superthrive
  • Hydrozyme
  • Bud Blood (Advance Nutrients) for the first week and last week of flowering
*If the plants aren't taking well to the nutrients I switch Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom with the Technaflora versions (Boost + Bloom).

Here are my two biggest plants, White Widow and an unknown Purples strain. They have been flowering for around 5 weeks.

Here is what the overall flowering room is looking like right now (you can't really see the two big ones in the far back):

Below is my clone situation at the moment. I have Grape Fruit Diesel and Grape Punch clones coming along. They were cloned with Dip N' Grow, cut at a 45 degree angle, and placed in 2 inch rockwool cubes that were soaked in ThriveAlive Green B-1 Solution and water. They sit under a 2 foot T5 light with 2 supplemental florescent bulbs that give off more blue UV. The clone dome sits on two 2x4's that are on top of a heating mat, causing an inch gap from the clone dome and the heating mat to prevent any heat shock from the mat. It works for the amount of plants I can handle. I'm currently WAY over what I need at the moment.

And finally, here is my Veg situation:
I have 4 Sour D plants finishing up their last few days of vegging before being put into flowering. There were a ton of cuttings I was able to take off the one large unknown purples strain I have. One of them popped the most rediculous roots in 24 hours... I managed to not think to take a picture. I also have Great White Shark that is taking off really nicely, and a Chemdawg D clone that is getting huge. The Automatic White Moscow is moving at a snails pace, and should be making more progress in the next week. Speaking of snails pace, check my note below the pics. I also have a new White Widow and Church clone that I took. The new Grape Punch and Grape Fruit Diesel clones will soon join the green house.

My Veg Nutes:

  • Grow Big (Fox Farm) / On the first week I use Technaflora's Grow nute because it is less potent
  • Big Bloom (Fox Farm) starting after the first veg week
  • ThriveAlive Green (Technaflora)
  • SugarDaddy (Technaflora)
  • Magical (Technaflora)
  • Route 66 (Technaflora) before and after all transplanting stages
  • Hydrozyme
  • Superthrive

*Side note: On Sunday I woke up to find a sleeping snail in the Chemdawg clone (small green pot with the tallest clone). It ate through another Chemdawg, White Widow, and several Purps clones! It was so high it couldn't possibly continue and conked out next to the best clone. :eyesmoke:

WELL THATS ALL FOLKS! Would love to hear anything... comments / feedback / questions / anything i say!

Hey man that's a bummer about the super lemon haze. Other plants are looking great. I don't know if you're comfortable with ordering seeds online but 20 bucks for 1 seed seems like a rip off anyway. I know some people are down on Green House seeds but you can get a 5 seed pack of their feminized super lemon haze from attitude for about $35. If that's what you really want it'd be worth looking into. Good luck.

That sounds awesome. I've heard a lot about Attitude but have yet to get anything from them. I liked the Super Lemon Haze because of its high THC content. After the struggle I've had with the super lemon haze, and with luck, I found a near by connection for LSD clones... and that strain seems to interest me more right now for its high thc and cbd content... so that will more than likely be my next purchase when I have room for another strain.

Thanks for reading and the compliments! I didn't think there was anyone out there on Roll It Up that read the journals, lol.

Wanted to update my journal for July 10th, 2009:

Plants are coming along great. I had some Grape Punch clones take off insanely fast with a lot of roots, so those are my new prospects to be hopeful for. The flowering room is looking great. My Chemdawg is INSANE! I wasn't able to pull off any good pictures of it, but soon I'll post some. The strain came from these people in Los Angeles that have the original OG Kush, so the Chemdawg is that crossed with a really bomb Sour D. I think it's the best strain I have now. That will be done by the middle of August. I'll also have Burkle, White Widow, Church, Auto White Moscow, and possibly some Sour D being harvested around the middle of August as well. In 2-3 weeks I will harvest my Easy Ryder (Automatic AK47 x Lowryder #2), White Widow, and this amazing bagseed plant. Towards the beginning to middle of September I'll be harvesting some Sour D, Great White Shark, Grape Punch, and Grape Fruit Diesel. And towards the beginning of October I will repeat harvesting what I'm about to harvest in 2 weeks... White Widow and this insane bag seed! Things should be more exciting starting in the next 2-3 weeks.

Here's some pics!

Flower Room as of July 10th. Starting to get cluttered.

Bagseed plant getting close to harvest:

Another pic of the bagseed plant:

Budding White Widow... Bagseed in the background:

Did I mention my White Widow is insanely topped, this is 1 plant:

Top of the Church plant, that grew some seed pods that I removed, but now is just growing buds:

Greenhouse with some plants vegg'ing... this is actually an older pic from 2 weeks ago (woops):

I'll take some pics of the Easy Ryder once it gets closer to harvest. It's 70th day (harvest day) is technically today but it does not look ready at all... I'm disappointed. I'm flushing it good and hopeing for it to bulk out more.

Harvest update coming next!
