other than buying a humidifier, is there a way to create more humidity in my grow room? I've tried adding a heat lamp and a tray of water and I get to about %40 but my room temps gets to about 86. Thats a little to hot right?

yes a little hot try getting a 5 gallon bucket and a towel fillt bucket 3/4 full of water and take to room then from ceiling hang a string with one end of towel and the other end put in bucket so its like a wick that sould help out. Peace
