First order with ILGM. Never again.

I've always germinated my seeds between moist paper towels in the dark until the sprout is about 1/2 " long, then plant in media. Just saying.
Paper towel works for some. Glass jars, paper towels...seems like a lot of bs just to sow a seed. Put medium in container, water container, plant seed. Wait. I've had the highest success rate using this method.

I know man. I know. I'll say this - if I get 6 or more that turn into viable seedlings I'll humbly eat my words, apologize, and move on. It's a coin toss at this point.

So I'm a jack wagon and planted 2 seeds in the same goddam cup. They're 2 different strains. I'm not even gonna try separating them. I'll bend each down in opposite directions and clone 'em both. What can ya do? No bong rips before planting seeds.

I'll post an update with pics in 2 days. I'll either be eating my words or exponentially more disappointed than I feel right now.
these are looking pretty weak my man. you need to get your lights a lot closer, and use a real pot. those seedlings shouldn't look like that. i'll post my seedlings shortly if u wanna look

I just got some seeds from ilgm, we will see how they do come April for my outdoor grow. They sure are pricy enough

Compare those seedlings !!!
most of them would look bigger, but they all just got topped today. They should be way thicker by the time they reach that height as op’s pics… if I was actually trying these would be a lot bigger by now, but zero nutrients besides rapid rooter and ph up and down until a few days ago

Bergman is not a breeder. He is a counterfeit. He takes other peoples strains that look pretty and dowses them with that silver shit until they hermie. Then he sells the feminized seed. His Jack Herer was full of nanners. His Gold Leaf is just something else that he has renamed. I would compare the quality of ILGM to cheap as chips except his seeds are way over priced. ILGM are pretenders. He used to hang at the Mr Nice Forum. If you want the real Black Widow with all the genetic possibilities then you buy it from Mr Nice Seeds. If you want a selection of one Black Widow plant that has been forced to go Hermie and stressed the fuck out then buy your seeds from Bergman.

After spending over $500 on four different strains, we started some of the seeds but had over 25% not sprout. We've been growing for years and even tried tricks from the ILGM grow Bible. Some of the seeds that did crack, produced ill looking seedlings that are not as strong as their siblings that did look normal.

The packaging is a basic bubble envelope and the seeds are in tiny plastic bags inside. That is hardly enough protection to prevent damage during shipping. I've had *flat* tomato seeds sent in better packaging! They have to know this isn't safe, so I figured returning them would be easy since they brag about their 100% germination guarantee.

That said, I spent almost 2wks of back and forth via email, trying to get ILGM to send me a shipping label, so I could give them the bad seeds, and get better seeds in return. Claire from Customer Service said she is overseas so she can't do it, and no one at their US facility in California, could help either. If this happens to you, don't believe it! When a company gives a person the ability to generate shipping labels, that same person can create a label to go to any location, it's the same program/ system.

The entire return policy is shady and made me feel uncomfortable. You're sent seeds from a distributer in your country, to mail bad seeds to an overseas address, but can't be given prepaid shipping to do so, and you can't mention what's in the package???

Claire from Customer service was unhelpful then became rude and accusatory. When I asked to speak to someone else, she never did, and I didn't get help.

I had to dispute the charges on my Credit Card in order to get any resolution. Save yourself grief and don't waste your time with ILGM.

I always suspected iglm seeds are just bulk seeds..Haven't ever saw or grew anything noteworthy from them. Much rather spend my money elsewhere.

Hmmmm..... when I first got back into this ILGM was the first place I went to just because of the germ guarantee. That said, if it's not already apparent, ILGM is not a breeder any more. From time to time you may see a description where they tell you where the seed came from or what a parent was, but mostly all the description are generic names just like the bulk seed makers use.

I go through a fair amount of seed a month and as such for certain designs, I'll use bulk seed. If I have no idea what the parents are and I'm getting a generic name then I'm paying bargain basement prices period. At this point, ILGM is good for me when I need to buy in bulk for a better price. You can get a few breeders to sell directly to you but you need larger orders than I'm willing to place a month. So ILGM fills the bill for me. After my first couple grows with them I had a couple duds. One out of 5 I'm not looking for more seeds. After 3 germs though I had a couple duds so I emailed and said that I still had quite a few seeds to get through but the germ rate seemed to be a bit low. Claire's response of course was to first ask how I was germing. After that she promptly advised that I feel free to go through all the seeds and add up all the non germs then get back to them. 4 months later I got through them all and some had worse germ rates than others. After sending them the total count of duds and the strains Claire took the bean count and multiplied it by 10 bucks a seed and gave me a code to apply.

If you're looking for Exotic Genetix, ETHOS, 20/20 etc then you'll have to use a merchant who sells their gear. If you're looking for top shelf bud you'd be better off with a chosen breeder than ILGM. If you want a strain that's likely been worked a little bit just due to seed turnover then spend 5 bucks a seed at ILGM and take advantage of their germ guarantee. My experience was stellar with customer service. As for the strains it depends on what you get. I've had a 5 plant run of GDP that was extremely low morph. Then I had a gelato that gave me 4 completely different phenos with wildly different growth patterns.

It's bulk seed. You're right. They may have varying nutrient requirements as well. They may not all have screaming terps. But for everything I've popped from ILGM I knew what I was getting and was happy with the results. That's not to say that every seed bank and breeder I've dealt with since has been excellent as well. It'll be sad to see it go once big money takes it away.

Lol! Would love to know the magic words you said to Claire for her to be nice to you and not accuse you of screwing up (even though I said what we did in the original email I sent to ILGM). At first, I thought she was having a bad day, maybe even bad week, but the exchange went on for 10days and she was seriously unwilling to do anything. I offered to send the seeds back because no one needs bad seeds and she still had an issue saying the seed count I was complaining about was too high.

We've been growing for a while but with ILGM we had poor success. From the first batch that didn't sprout, we noticed some poor growth from some of the seeds that did crack. We hadn't even tried all 50 seeds and already had problems! We purchased Blue Haze (fem), Gorilla Glue (auto), Gold Leaf (auto), and White Widow (auto).

After I disputed the charges on my CC, they are now contacting me back and apologizing for how she was and how poorly the products are coming out. I'm trying to see what the bank can do since they finally admitted guilt. Originally, I wasn't looking for a credit, I just wanted replacements. My experience was so awful, I will never use ILGM again. I can't go through all this headache again! Life is hard enough...

Just a quick email to CS mentioning what I mentioned here. If I had to guess I'd say it's the usual customer service MO to remind people of their recommended germ options. They probably get more than their share of new people not following directions or even knowing what to do in the first place. The gist of my email was I still had a few seeds to go but wanted to mention what was happening in case they wanted me to do something else. Just keep track and give us the total when you're done. Very professional and quick to reply considering. They do keep track of germ rates though as Claire did mention I was hitting below their target rate, which I don't recall but it was above 90 I believe.

Sucks that's what you got from them. But there are still a ton of other distributors out there who give stellar service as well. I just tried another new one yesterday and they're also shipping out the next day. We'll see what it all looks like when it shows up.

Claire must be getting burnt out at the job then because I told her what we did in the first email and how long we've been growing too! She still acted ill-mannered, I don't know what I could've done different:wall:. Still refused to send a shipping label. Still complained that it's too many seeds. Wouldn't let me talk to anyone else. (I'm assuming it was to CYA since she wasn't honoring their guarantee and was really not nice.)

Everyone has a customer service horror story, this is mine for sure! Crazy we talked to the same person and had totally different experiences. Maybe she had a thing for you HibbityJibbity ;)

Well if I can work it into something that benefits me you know I will! Something I noticed when I got the first order from them. I google mapped the address and it comes back to a residence in CA. I don't know how many shippers they have in the US but everything I've ever got from them came from that same address. If that's the only shipper for them in the US then I can see why things can take some time. As for Claire she replied within 2 days I believe. Pretty quick considering how things are these days.

Anyway, a few weeks after resolution I received a survey to rate my experience. As I recall there are something like 6 or 7 support "angels", I gave her a great rating as things went well for me. After Claire gave me a code for the discount I had to ask what happens to the balance if I don't use it all as it's just a regular code with their name in it somewhere. A second CS agent replied the next day and advised they'd generate another code. Which they promptly did after I used the first code. All around good for me. There isn't much else I'd consider ordering from them but I keep an eye out for their seed deals as everyone else has jacked up their bulk seed rates to 10 bucks a seed now which is ridiculous considering all the alternatives we have today.

I contrast this against a $hit show I had with 420packaging.com They ignored multiple emails for 2 weeks, then I get a bounceback from a previously valid customer service email telling me the CS account can't be found. After ignoring me for 2 weeks then their customer service email is turned off? Rather than just do a chargeback I did the max I could without going to small claims. I turned the entire fiasco over to the Attorney General's office in CA as well as the BBB. The same day I got the letter from the CA AG's office I finally get a call from the losers. They're so concerned now about my order and my displeasure with them. Yeah, after the attorney general who holds their business license in their hands got hold of them. Then the tune changed. When I found out who it was calling me the first thing I said was "looks like now you want to communicate eh... you must have gotten a letter from the AG's office to which she replied yes. Those jagbags were just going to take my money and try to ignore this issue thinking I must just be another stoner who doesn't have a clue. After a few well placed emails the tune changed and I told them to pound the order up their backside and that I wouldn't take their crap if it was free. 1 week later the COO emails me because he too was now "soo concerned". Concerned that their company is on the AG's radar. The purpose of that email was to see if I got my refund which I did. You think I'm gonna give that idiot the time of day now? I got my money back. They're on permanent ignore now, and I'd not recommend this dump to anyone attracted to their "sale prices".

Glad its over for ya, many more places to get seed.

There's a fix for this. Buy a shit ton of seeds from various places. Collect them. I have so many seeds I couldn't grow them all in a lifetime... but I have a great selection to pick from and when something's a no go I move on to something else...
Samey - Same over here. Over a 3 year period I bought about $3000 - $4000 in seeds (Mostly old school classics like AKBB's stuff and Mr. Nice, hazeman, swami, The Rev etc.

I've also been an active pollen chucker and have made lots of seeds. I could never grow a fraction of what I have. I always sprout more than I need so even if seeds turn out iffy I have enough to choose from. To do this it takes time to build a huge seed library but if you chuck the best from ever pack you sprout worth chucking you get thousands of seeds pretty fast. One of my favorite chucks is Black Poison Skunk x Chocolate Thai. I have a few thousand of those seeds and can always pop 30 seeds and pick the best handful to grow out and flower. Takes time, but do your research, spend wisely and chuck, chuck, chuck. You'll have many thousands of seeds from plants you enjoy in a year or two.

"Well if I can work it into something that benefits me you know I will!" Lol, HibbityJibbity!

Hopefully as all the states begin to legalize, it'll make things different. All four ILGM orders came from the same CA address also and came in those same thin bubble envelopes. I'm in upstate NY, so relying on standard shipping not to cause damage during a 2000mi trip, is a lot to ask for. Other places send seeds in vials for protection. I would've felt better if they at least stuck a "fragile" sticker on there

*UPDATE* After filing the dispute on my credit card, ILGMs Finance dept reached out. They apologized for Claire and the experience we had but it ended up not going anywhere. I changed my CC# so they would've needed to do a wire transfer. I had to ask them 3x if I get charged to accept the wire, and show them proof beforehand, will they include that amount in the total. (We're not in the wrong and shouldn't have to pay to fix their mistake.) They threw it back on me but actually lied this time! I had to end conversation there and politely told them to reread the previous emails for the truth. Surprisingly, they managed to dig themselves into a bigger hole and its a headache to deal with.

I tried to be nice and reverse the dispute since I know it looks bad for a business to have that. They said sorry, but it was hollow. At the end of the day, they are unwilling to do right their wrongs, even after they admitting fault. They shouldn't have a guarantee if you have to jump through hoops to get them to honor it. They shouldn't be in business if they don't want to work with the people and save face. Today, I had to move on because it's not worth it.

I read a post the other day where ILGM sent replacement seeds from the same batch that weren't working. So not only did they not get rid of the bad batch, they sent the poor guy the same bunk seeds that also didn't sprout. There must be something going on with them internally and I missed out on ILGMs good old days.

You've been awesome to talk to HibbityJibbity! I'm glad your experience was better and hope you don't have any more issues with ILGM seeds. Have a good one and enjoy your grows, man :blsmoke:
