First Indoor setup - GROWING IN A COMPUTER!

So my parents didn't want me growing at my house, so i needed a way to hide them and then transport them when they grow big enough descretly.
Then i thought whats an easy way to have light and suffiecent air flow/temp conditions. A computer case! Grabbed a shitty old computer case from school, chucked in a $5 20w halogen from hardware, shitty old fan,
scored some random seeds from a mate and bam.

I'm not sure how much i should be watering them. I'm giving them about 150ml of water each day. Theres two seeds in there. Obviously when they reach suitable height ill move them to another spot, this is really just for germination. btw for germination i just put them in the soil(just plain dirt) and saturated them with water and left them - whats the reason for germating out of soil - is this just for speed? cos its taken 3 days for one of them to sprout?

update: I've upgraded to a 18w CFL(=90w incadesent) globe, and also added foil, ie taken out the computer psu, so its alot a lighter, but ive lost the fan :/

what food should i start giving them, and when?

You need more light in there mate for it to take advantage and grow faster, cfls are much better to use than halogen lights,

get rid of the halogen. puts out far too much red light and far too much heat. get some 20w cfls instead.

alright i took your guys advice and picked up a 20w cfl, i didn't realise they were so cheap like $5 each from the supermarket, and i see what you mean - its hard to work in the case with the light on, as its too bright :)
i'll post some pics up tomorrow
how long till i should be cutting the light from on 24/7?

you can grow under 24/0 as long as you want to, when you feel you're ready to start budding switch the lights to 12/12. I reccommend you pick up a timer from home depot as well, they too are only $5 and it saves U a lot of hassle.

A Halogen light for growing is like a big dick on a priest. It just don't accomplish anything!

dangermouze, just because you lost your psu doesnt mean you have to lose your fans, you can wire computer fans to any ac/dc adapter, so long as the voltages are about the same. there're many tutorials on many a forum telling you how to do this, just take the time to poke around a bit. honestly though its very easy, i used 2 cpu fans connected to one phone charger in a pc setup similar to yours. pics below.

good luck man!

and try to find a bigger space for your plants. if everything goes right way you need re potting to bigger pots, thats mean bigger growbox.

U should be alright if U flower early and do some topping/lsting to them bitches. If ur keeping them in that container your biggest enemy will be space, for both the roots and the plants. Flowering early will allow you to id the male (if any) and kill it before the roots take off and smother the female out. so think about flowering around 15-20 days.

also, U definitely need fans blowing constantly in there to move that stale air around. Its really easy to wire an old ac adapter to a fan since the wires are all color coated. Just match red to red and black to black, secure it, and plug her in.

dont allow the plants to stretch too much on you, you only want enough so you can easily water the plants without spilling nutes or anything on the leaves. do this by keeping the lights about 4" away. the plants will stretch at first, but then when it gets to a comfortable distance/light intensity it will stop.

any questions feel free to ask

ok well i went and got a 2nd cfl, but i think its giving too much heat(just too much for too little area), pics attached - see how the leaves are starting to invert? does this mean their too hot? too dry?
see the diff between day 11 and day 12 its hard to see with the pic, but 12 - hte out edge is curling up - what does this mean?

I'm moving the plants out soon, im just using the computer as a germ/seedling grower also im takign some clones from these two as soon as their big enough to put back in the the computer and start all over again.

Whats a good age to be taking clones, just before turning veg process?

morp, yeah i know, i even have a charger of something here, and had it setup for a day, which taught me my first lesson, turn things of before you change when working on setup. one broken fan later and cut thumb, i know realise not to be lazy and turn things off :)
