I've been interested in hydro for a while now but im stuck on a few things about nutrients. My questions are what ph/ppm should the plants be at,what nutrients should i use,how do I lower/higher ph/ppm And I plan on using rockwool cubes and hydroton do I start the plants right in the cubes and keep watering untill the roots touch the res or is there another way.

Any replies are greatly appreciated thanks.

Man, you got a lot of reading and studying to do.
pH of 5.8 is perfect, but between 5.4 and 6.4 will not be harmful. maybe even 6.6 will be safe.
You'l need a ppm chart and converstion chart too. ppm is measured in all kinds of different ways and you also have diferent ppms for sprouts, VEG, and BLOOM stages.
Ina DWC system, you start sprouts or clones int he cubes. In a Bubblponics system, a system with feeder tubes, or a Drip system, again a system with feeder tubes, you can start a seed right in the cube.

again, Man, you got a lot of reading and studying to do.
