First hydro/aero setup questions

First time grower, long time reader.

I have decided on a certain type of setup, which I have seen many times but never firsthand, only seen soil grows.

Aiming for 30 plants

I am going to label my ideas with numbers so where you see a mess up, question, or better idea you can let me know easier

The idea so far, which is open to suggestions:

1. One room to start the grow with Mylar or black & white stapled on wooden posts.
2. Air intake with carbon filter with exhaust silencer and osculating fan

3.I want to start a hydro setup so I guess i would start with a cloner in a medium of some sort of medium, this is a confusing are for me as I have never seen this done before.
4. I'm assuming i will put my clones... might start from seeds now :/ not so sure about the transfer from soil to hydro.
5. watched a you tube video on it called "Quickstop - HowToGrowGuide Ep.1 - How to transfer soil clones to hydroponic DWC Pt.2" so I don't think it would be to much of a problem, like how he put some rocks into help support the weight

6. I'm assuming i will have them in separate pots with holes for drainage with the pots elevated over a plastic container with a separate reservoir
7. with a small pump leaving from the reservoir drip feeding each plant. then return to the reservoir.
8. nutrients for hydro clones needs a bit of insight from a pro if I could get some advice would be great.

9. After they are ready to be put into the main grow room built the same way as before
10. I am hoping this will work the setup consists of: 3 large plastic sewage pipes with holes cut to size for river baskets.
11. With a small pump probably from this page due to the price for replacements http://www.cheaphydroponics.com/category-s/1861.htm
12. one pump will be for each pipe, each pipe being set at an angle of roughly 15 degrees to allow for drainage.
13. this will drain to the reservoir back to the pump and again back to the river baskets. (diagram can be uploaded)
14. Question on transferring from smaller river pots to larger ones if roots wrap around the bottom of the pots because i need them to be long enough depending on the answer to the next question
15.Question on means of delivery to each plant, should I let it run freely down the pipes or have misting or sprinkler heads through the pipe?
16. I will continue the grow until harvest.

Apart from nutrients, ventilation, Noise, harvest, disease, cleaning, etc. things like this I've missed out at the moment because i don't want to be completely overloaded with information.
Which I'm sure I'll have questions on later. Will this work or should I stick with the traditional soil grow.
The more I write the better soil sounds, except the yield...

Thanks to everyone who reads and helps out on this looks like I'm going to need a lot of help. Will start a journal from building the room to through it all.

Sounds like you haven't been reading enough. A lot of your questions are very basic. You should get your hands on a decent book and read it front to cover. Don't believe everything you read but it will give you a much better basis.

I'll answer one of your questions for you.

1. Don't use mylar. Its hard to clean, and its freakin hard to work with on a large scale if your by yourself. Then there's always creases. Plus its super thin so it would not work as a wall.

It's been a while since I've looked into it Jiji thanks for the Mylar tip though every answer helps. going to read into a lot more the more I typed the more I realized the lack of understanding I have on this. would black and white work better? or are you saying a solid wall would have to be in place?

That panda paper works pretty well. It's up to you if you want to have a solid wall in place. I would rather use a solid wall painted flat white but I wouldn't say you need one. I've seen friends on a budget do it that way.

that's also an option, which i will go for now painting the room seems easier but i'd want a frame to hang filters etc. on with a cover over it to help keep the heat in so it doesn't move to the top floor.
One more question for you though? just to help me look into it more. what would you call the setup described from 10 to 13
thanks
Solid wall being a panel on a frame or an actual part of the building?

Last one I'm gonna answer only because I've been hating on a lot of posts today....

It depends. You kind of described two systems and the difference is in 15.

Basically its a NFT Nutrient Film Technique system. The one with misters would be a "low pressure Aeroponic\NFT system."

It takes a while to get one of these type of systems operating the way you want it to. I tried copycating some very popular designs here on Rollitup and since I'm not gonna name any names they FUCKIN SUCK.

You want 30 plants in hydro and your a beginner get a 4x8 ebb and flow table

No worries, thanks for your help Jiji. Will look into it a fair bit more tonight

i like hempy style hydro. It's simple as fuck, involves no pumps unless you set up an autowater, and is drain to waste instead of ebb and flow ~ which means less water used and less nutrients wasted.

check out the thread "world of hempy" if you're interested in the K.I.S.S. Method of hydro.

perfect for Sea of Green setups and also known as a form of "passive" hydroponics.
