first harvest/ready to cure? +REP

Ok this is my first harvest and although it didn't turn out quite as I'd have liked its a learning experience and I'm happy with my baby. Its been hanging for a few days now, around 3 or 4. I've been reading up on when to cure and I believe its ready to begin curing. I have VERY tall pill bottles. Would this work instead of mason jars or do I have to run out to the store and buy them? ANY tips, tricks, advice is much appriated. My harvest is hanging right now andI'm a little worried cause it smells like a forest, not weed. Any help and advice or tricks that work will get + REP!

Pill bottles are a BIG NEGATIVE. Your Trics will stick to plastic especially when it gets that stupid static charge in there

oh yeah, you'll definitely wanna use glass over plastic. I find my old jam jars(pickle jars, salsa jar, any reusable and air-sealed glass jars) to work just fine. Just be sure to give your buds the right air time and you should do alright.

That way your recycling and curing:) Cant loose there

galon size pickle jars work fine also, sams sells them for 3 bucks. Or mason jars, just soak the lid of the jar in bleach to get rid of the pickle smell.

Yeah don't cheap out on the glass, the plastic will ruin the taste too. What your smelling is chlorophyl, nothing to be worried about : ')

Curing turns that hay smell in to a sweet sweet smell, don't worry about that!

Here's my advice to you though, most of the guides you'll read specify 1-2 weeks hanging dry time. However, for smaller plants grown under CFL or low-watt HID (which I'm assuming is you, since you have just 1 plant) then this is WAYYY TO LONG! So forget what you read about time...

I'm telling you think because you may be ready to cure today! 3-4 days is all I've ever needed to dry out my plants... if they are crispy and light (as opposed to heavy) then it might be time to start jarring them.

I feel like the drying time is drastically overestimated most everywhere, so I hope this saves you from ending up with shitty hay smelling buds!

I have never had drying take more than 4 days, and I have had some nice bulky colas. I think it depends on your environment, I live in a dryer climate so I think that speeds up the drying time as opposed to somewhere with a more humid climate. That's my two cents anyways. If the buds are crispy on the outside and still a little mosit on the inside it is perfect to start curing, do not over dry!
