First “Guerilla Grow.” Suggestions for finding optimum locations?

I currently have some stuff going on preventing me from my having normal indoor grow. I can’t grow outdoors in my yard, but truly love growing even more than smoking so the grow must go on. The main thing I want others to know, is I will NOT grow on regular citizens private property.

Simply put, I was thinking about first finding said locations and having like 2-5 plants at each spot. Going back to tend to them maby like twice a week, I really don’t know.

I live in between Iowa, illinois and Ohio which will tell you the climate. I would be digging rather big holes, filling it with homemade soil (essentially coots, using many items from buildasoil.)

I feel as if I truly only need suggestions on how to find the optimum location, but 90% of my grows have been indoor so I’m open to any tips!!

One of my biggest tips is to look for places where native sunflowers are thriving. Cannabis has very similar requirements as sunflowers, so I would recommend trying to find such a place to grow.

Do you have general areas that you want to grow at and need to know where to specifically plant them or do you need help finding the general areas?
What I have started doing is going on Google Earth (which is really cool by the way,) and checking out “big” areas of forest. I have some areas I know of, I’m checking them out on the Google Earth app.

At first I was thinking about doing it at the bigger woodsy areas (most no bigger than a square mile,) but worry about people. IMO the spots really need to be perfect.

How would you guys use Google earth to find spots?
-Would you look for the biggest woodsy areas?
-Use the reverse psychology method, and find an area in a lightly used reservation park type thing?

From reading what others do, it sounds like most find very remote spots and just plant them and pretty much let them do their thing. I don’t know how remote is remote enough? The biggest woodsy areas near me are probably no more than a few square miles.
I was thinking a decent sized woodsy area off a highway, preferably near like hillbilly types who don’t venture in the woods would be great?

why do you plant in pots? dig a hole let her grow 5m tall.

Ya there won’t be pots, I’ll be digging bigger holes than I’d like and filling it with a coots mix pretty much.
How did you decide on where to plant them, and how tall did they get?

i just walked 3h up a hill figured nobody is this crazy to go up a hill in the middle of nowhere in summer when its 40c

hey dig a hole for water and put plastic bags over it or tarp soo it collects rain. that way you dont need to bring water every time.and buy those water drippers when i had 3 of them all around my plant was yellow and dry and she was fresh and dark green you could have seen her from miles XD

Plant them in a spot where you can visit and either not look out of place or where no one will see you. Picking spots depends on how much risk you’re willing to take and how much time/energy you want to put in. If you’re looking in forested areas, look for clearings without trees or plant along the edge of the trees and a field. You want as much direct sunlight as possible, at least 6 hours a day

What strains do you plan on growing?

Arcgis might be useful. The usda and usgs have lots of satellite imagery overlays like public land, wetlands, flood plains, topographical maps, streams and other things that might help find a spot.

I don’t have a lot of outdoor knowledge, but assuming strain wise the strains I used indoors are similar… I have mainly Bodhi. I know I’ve read some strains are more resistant to cold and such, maby I’ll get some outdoor specific stuff.

Any suggestions? I feel that shorter/stockier indices may be the way to go, unless I find badass spots for lankier sativas.
