first grow

  • This is my first grow.

    lighting: 300w total (3 100w daylight CFL bulbs. started on soft white) 24 hrs
    medium: sunshine advance mix #4
    nutes: Sensi Grow part A 3-0-0 and part B 1-2-6. 15 ml of part a and b/ 1 gal water. i also use 1 ml of roots excelurator/1 Gal water
    water: tap from the sink




    they are 33 days old from seedling sprout. they were bag seeds. the middle, younger seeds were put into soil on Oct 30, and broke soil on the 31st. the bigger plants just started their nutes last tuesday at once per week to start with.

    so i guess im just wondering how my plants are looking. i feel as though the older plants should be bigger having seen pics from other grows, but i know it could be me making mountains out of mole hills, so i guess im looking for feedback? never gonna learn unless i ask questions right?

Hey buddy,

I'm in the same boat as you are, a couple of weeks into my first grow, so I can't really say much about the stage of the plants. I have read some very solid sounding advice about not using tin foil as a reflecting medium, though. Very low reflective capabilities, and retaining a lot of heat. White painted walls or mylar seems to be the top choices from what I can gather. Again, I'm a noob if you ever saw one, but maybe someone can comment on that and teach us both something :mrgreen: Happy smoking

i have read the same thing on foil. unfortunately i am growing on a poor mans budget. :/

The lights need to be closer, you have a bit of stretch which isn't good, if putting lights closer ensure you have air flow between top of plant and lights to keep heat stress at bay. Your soil looks too damp, try to keep watering to a min (just enough to keep her happy, but not too much to make her lazy). I'd re-pot the seedlings burying them up to just below cotyledon leaves or they may topple over. More light would help a lot, All looking healthy though.

the lights are actually alot closer then they look in the pics. they are like right above the plants
