Hah I think I topped em. Again first time growing. I snipped the main cola couple days ago... Isn't that topping... Forgive me for being new. Other then that they look good. Big strong branches developing. There's is almost a knot type bump where the main stem branches off up the plant, that normal?
Hahaha lol!!! you cut out the new growth in the main cola right not the main cola itself i hope but its coo its a learning experience you well get it need help let me no are you tube it lol time for work get atyall later bro!!! JB

Yea i took just a snip of some new growth from the tip top of the main cola, i wanted to clone it but it was pretty tiny. Every youtube video i see confuses me on topping, i think i did it right o well, like u said learning exp. Im more of a hands on learner, i need it done in front of my face so i can i understand it.

Hey cole, you should do a side by side test with topping and lst'ing it. Personally i find topping is a major stress for the plant and slows growth for a few days. Whats your reasons for topping? Increased yeilds, or are you trying to control height.

I think there are 3 good reasons to top a plant, and none of them are to increase yeilds, 1: to clone the piece you cut off 2: to keep your plants short 3: to keep an even canopy

I understand the reasons of topping. Some people think that topping creats 2 "main" colas, therefore, increased yeilds. And the reason for an "even" canopy is to increase light to lower buds, which increases yeild also. Im a firm believer that LST increases yeilds but I cant say for sure that topping increases yeild. Atleast not in my experience.

I agree with you, people think that when you get 2 or 4 or however many "main" colas that they will the same size as the original, un-topped main, but from my experience the yeild from a topped plant and an untopped plant will be about the same, all other things staying the same. I grow in a small cabinet so I usually top my plants just to keep the height under control.

Those things look great. I use those exact same kabob sticks and twist ties to keep my plants up if they start leaning too much. They sell a roll of green twist tie in the garden section of home depot. I use it for all my training needs.

I know you can grow autos under 12/12, but I believe the yield suffers quite a bit. I haven't done it myself.
